I've been shooting teens, tweens a lot over the years as well as adults. I enjoy the fresh faces. I am good with new models, teaching them posing and putting together a shoot to start or add to their books. I like taking someone with little to no experience, immerse them into the process by making sure they understand the process. I'm not a, 'stand still, look pretty' type of shooter. I want them to really feel part of this.
I also shoot
I spend an enormous amount of time educating myself with new and fresh ideas in order to bring as much to the table for each shoot as I can.
I put together moodboards for my shoots to engage the model in the thought process. I want them totally on board and it gives them an idea where the shoot is going as far as creativity, locations, makeup, etc.
I am one hundred percent professional at all times. I pride myself on this. But, I know how to keep the mood light with jokes and good music. (hopefully!)
I am constantly scouting locations, keeping track of and making notes of why each place would be good for a shooting location.
I love photography that pushes boundaries, breaks rules, juxtaposition. I'm all about the pretty pictures, but I love art and the making thereof.
I LOVE Brooke Shaden, Laura Jade, Melissa Rodwell, Lindsay Adler, Andre Belluso, Clay Cook, Sal Cincotta, Tony Corbell, the list goes on and on.
Richard Avedon, in my opinion, led the charge to pull photography out of its static existence and into the 20th century. His images stand on their own merits to this day.
I enjoy reading about other shooters and their passion to take things to a new level of creativity. It feeds my soul.
I still get nervous before each shoot. I like that I do. And when I arrive at the first location, I go to my happy place and let the fun begin!!
I love makeup, clothing and all things fashion. I am constantly, perhaps obsessing, over new and fresh ways to shoot my subjects.
I've learned how adapt quickly to overcome situations that come up. Equipment malfunctions so you go natural light.
I've been shooting since '79. I started out in landscape and architectural, loading and developing my own film and slowly moved into shooting people. I still shoot film, though not as frequently as I'd like, btw..
I recently added event photography, runway, etc., as I found I enjoyed the fast pace of the events. As I've aged,, my tastes have expanded. I enjoy moving myself out of my comfort zone. It's easy to get stuck in a rut, unable to move. I will purposely do something that makes me 'think outside the box,' as it were.
I love fashion. My daughter and I are slowly working on respective clothing lines. It's slow, but a passion just the same. I look forward to the day I can shoot one of my own designs!
