When I approach a shoot, I like to have at least a couple of ideas to use a basis to work around. This might be playing out a scene/story with a character, or just a theme.
Taking those ideas as the starting point, I like to remain flexible and work with the model to bring their personality through as they become part of the creative process
It's important to me that this should never feel like hard work, either to me or the model... that doesn't mean I don't approach it professionally (I certainly do!) and it doesn't mean that it doesn't take effort and concentration (keeping focused helps get the best results)... but let's make sure we enjoy the shoot too!
I'm looking forward to extending my portfolio and skills further and use this as outlet for my passion and imagination that goes beyond my previous confines.
Experience I'm a hobbyist photographer with (way too many!) years of experience behind the camera, shooting everything from landscapes to street photography and with a keen focus on live music.
I started shooting models a few years ago, but in recent months have significantly stepped up my work in this field.
Although I'm relatively new this genre of photography, I'm loving the opportunity I have here to experiment with different styles and approaches and have had the chance to work with some fabulous models. Maybe it's the enjoying the chance to take control and plan, rather than just react to the world around me, but I'm delighted with my work so far in this field.
