I was advised by trading standards that a judge would take a dim view if I took the matter to court due to the price of the inks involved, even though a refill set costs £120. I contacted the company again today and advised I was taking advice from Trading Standards and they emailed back offering to send a full set of ink. I feel it's not worth pursuing any further. I'm told sending around 30 A4 pages through the printer with the correct ink SHOULD solve the issue.

If it doesn't then I will be back in touch with them.

send them a letter of acceptance SUBJECT TO THEIR ADVICE ON THE PRINTER WORKING AFTER 30 SHEETS ETC...

and you finding that there are no secondary problems caused.

not sure if this can be accomplished with a letter writ in plain english or if it has

to be done in legalese. a conditional acceptance is what i'm pointing at.

is that possible ? i dont know but sounds sensible to me
