Having shot a lot of weddings first things first you're way too cheap. This will please some people because they don't want to pay much but as you've found you make nothing. I have people say I'm too expensive and others who think I'm quite cheap, so don't worry about charging a higher figure just because they can get cheaper elsewhere. It all depends on what you NEED to charge. Work out your costs for the equipment and then work out an hourly rate.
Get a price list and a good looking portfolio together and promote yourself as a quality, necessary investment for the bride and you should find that you will get booked. If you can show you'll make her look great, they'll pay for you.

Good advice. Near me, £75 for the bride including trial would be about right plus £25 for bridesmaids. Often the bridesmaids are only part made up, if you can do hair as well, that's a big bonus.
