Hi Felicity, Thankyou for your reply, the whole losing weight in order to tone aspect is a lot clearer to me now. Can I ask whether lifting weights would be stressful on my knees? As I said in my original post, I don't have very good knees, I have been given a few leg exercises to do every day by my doctor. Also, If possible, I am looking for exercises I can do at home, as going to the gym may not be possible, hence the original question of skipping and hula-hooping. If these would not be efficient enough (as well as the suggestion of a gym ball), is there any other equiptment, or exercises, which would be more sufficient for what I want to achieve?
Doesn't weight lifting focus mainly on the arms?
