The Moderators of this site are all volunteers - with jobs, families and modelling / photography interests of their own - who work in shifts to ensure the site runs as smoothly as possible, but they are not individually on Purestorm 24/7 even though sometimes it might look as if a couple of us are.

If you need to contact a Moderator, particularly if your query is urgent, please use the Contact us button, which can be found at the bottom of any forum page. This will ensure that your problem is spotted by the first Moderator who has time to answer or deal with it.

Recently we have had members become irate at their problem not being sorted out as fast as they thought it should be. As the recipient of their direct PM was 'off-shift' or on holiday, the lack of action was not really the individual Moderator's fault, and the response would have been much faster if the Report or Contact buttons had been clicked instead.

Remember we can only help you, if you help us.

Telephone Contact

We regularly get asked either to supply a telephone contact number for Purestorm

or to contact members by telephone when they have a problem which needs to be solved.

As Purestorm operates 24/7 and is administered by a small team of volunteer members of the community who give of their free time to assist in its running it is impractical for us to offer telephone assistance, both on time and cost grounds.

The only ways a telephone contact line might be feasible would be if ALL members were prepared to commit to a monthly subscription on annual contract to allow paid staff to be employed, or a very expensive premium call line was set up to recoup the staffing costs.
Neither of these options is currently viable.

A Day In The Life Of The Moderators

Moderating a site like Purestorm is very much a labour of love and, due to the complexity of the issues Moderators need to deal with, it involves more than just popping in for an hour or two every couple of days.

This is a typical weekday duty roster at the moment for the five primary Moderators. It involves handover periods where Moderators are in telephone conversation, updating on evolving issues which have been and/or need to be dealt with, and periods of the day where two or more of us have to be online due to the workload.
Moderator 1 - 06:00 to 08:00
Moderator 2 - 07:30 to 10:30
Moderator 3 - 09:00 to 13:00
Moderator 4 - 12:00 to 16:00
Moderator 2 - 15:30 to 18:00
Moderator 3 - 17:00 to 20:00
Moderator 1 - 19:00 to 24:00
Moderator 2 - 20:00 to 23:00
Moderator 5 - 19:00 to 23:00
Moderator 4 - 22:00 to 02:00
Insomniacs - 02:00 to 06:00

At weekends, our busiest periods, we all spend longer online and Moderator 6 joins us when free.  Although Moderators may not be showing online we will often be working on the back side of the site where the majority of the admin work takes place.

Our dream is for enough members to financially commit to this site for us (and this includes Matt) to give up our day jobs, or maybe just go part-time, so that we start to see some return for the long hours we currently voluntarily donate to help this place run smoothly and to keep it the top Model / Photographer / MUA Portfolio Hosting site in the UK.

However, as the overwhelming majority of members are not prepared to spend even £2.99 a month on a Silver membership, mainly because there are countless other free sites on the web and new ones being started up every week, at the moment we can only dream ... as we keep on answering questions and dealing with issues which members invariably feel require near instant attention, to the best of our abilities.
