Who owns the copyright, do you think? The monkey, the photographer or neither?

I have my own views - the photographer created the whole scenario, therefore although he didn't take the photo, he was the cause of the situation so therefore copyright should go to him.

What are your thoughts?

The monkey didn't sign a waiver so it's the monkey's.

The concept was devised by the photographer, along with coming up with how it would be taken by the monkey etc. So effectively he's the director of said shoot and copyright belongs to him.

My thoughts exactly. I was trying to talk to a friend on facebook about this and he felt the monkey should hold the copyright because he triggered the release. Good luck to the photographer.
