Older lenses often has it. Some of the more expensive and highly rated lenses from Zeiss has it wide open. Most recent and cheaper lenses has less issue with purple fringe. My Canon 135L f2 which delivers the Zeiss like microntrast pop also exhibit CA at wider aperture while the more recent 100mm f2.8L Macro IS handles CA well while very sharp don't have that 3D pop appearance. Likewise Sigma Art don't have the microcontrast pop of the Zeiss but handles CA extremely well. Could this be a direct trade off?
