Hi guys, I've just upgraded my camera and thinking about getting it insured (along with my lenses). Can anyone recommend anywhere? The only place I've heard of is Protect Your Bubble but I've been told they're quite expensive.
I get camera cover, third party indemnity and professional liability insurance from Hiscox via PolicyBee for £339.73 pa. This covers £1000,000 third party liability, £50,000 professional liability insurance and £6000 of photographic and computer equipment worldwide cover for both my photography and web design businesses.
Thanks guys, I'll take a look at those sites. Does anyone know if my home contents insurance covers my equipment? I assume it's covered while in the house but not when I take it out??
The slightest wiff of professional work and your house contents insurance will be invalid for your photographic gear. That is why I took out seperate business insurance. It means that even if the job you are on when the kit is lost/stolen/damaged may be amateur but if you have done any professional work, or what they think may be professional work, at any time, the insurance company may not pay out.
