Hi guys, I've just upgraded my camera and thinking about getting it insured (along with my lenses).
Can anyone recommend anywhere? The only place I've heard of is Protect Your Bubble but I've been told they're quite expensive.

Photoguard, aaduki and glover and Howe are the specialists you here mentioned a lot.

I used to use glover and Howe, very easy to deal with but never had to make a claim.

A quick forum search will pick up a dozen threads with a mixture of experience with these companies and more

I get camera cover, third party indemnity and professional liability insurance from Hiscox via PolicyBee for £339.73 pa. This covers £1000,000 third party liability, £50,000 professional liability insurance and £6000 of photographic and computer equipment worldwide cover for both my photography and web design businesses.

I use Towergate, paid out on both my major claims in the past 15 years with no quibbles.
Friendly, helpful & professional.
E mail me direct if you want more info.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at those sites.
Does anyone know if my home contents insurance covers my equipment? I assume it's covered while in the house but not when I take it out??

I would ring to check as it maybe that if they are over a certain value they may need to be listed as a seperate thing on the house insurance and it will cost you more.

The slightest wiff of professional work and your house contents insurance will be invalid for your photographic gear. That is why I took out seperate business insurance. It means that even if the job you are on when the kit is lost/stolen/damaged may be amateur but if you have done any professional work, or what they think may be professional work, at any time, the insurance company may not pay out.
