For me it's the electric guitar. I have seen very few images anywhere that I think "wow, that's good!" Normally just looks like an awkward looking model who has been given a dead fish to cuddle.
What do other people think?

I disagree, Gerry got the Elvis Costello vibe right with the first shot and even if the second shot isn't quite as good, it's still an imaginatively styled and posed shot.

The real "Most overused prop" has got to be a wall. See how many shots there are on Purestorm where the model is standing close up one.

Here's my list of pet hates. Big floppy hats, any kind of hats, long gloves, cigarette holders, guns, swords, police tape, stripper shoes, I'm sure there's more, but that will do to be getting on with.

Countryside!!!! Well some outdoor location pictures work! For me anything that adds nothing to the picture and is inebitably a cliché. One that comes to mind is red marerial, wind and a naked girl. Done to death and of no merit in the first place....but of course it is all subjective?
