Local professional retoucher Steve Thewis is bringing his expertise to Saracen House Studio for a hands-on workshop to guide you through using the basic tools in Photoshop for retouch workflow. Starting with the basics of setting up workspaces for retouching, we'll also be covering topics like making the most out of Smart Objects, Masking, Blending Modes, Adjustment Layers and many other useful tricks for a non-destructive retouch workflow.
We'll also be covering some tricks and tips to speed and simplify your post processing workflow, whilst giving you skills to allow your editing to reflect your creativity better, so there will a focus on several ways of skin retouching and detail enhancement, as well as realistic replacement of backgrounds and the lighting for your shoots to help make this work better for your retouching.
As a Retoucher Steve Thewis believes that the best way to learn and understand Photoshop is to do it! When you leave this workshop, you'll understand the basics of Photoshop and have some real-world skills that will take your photographs on to the next level. Once you've completed this half-day workshop, you'll also be able to change backgrounds, add lighting effects, colour effects and special effects!
This is a hands-on workshop - you'll need a laptop running Adobe Photoshop, preferably CS3 or later although if you don't have this, please let us know and we'll do our best to provide a laptop for your visit.
We'll provide you with the images to edit and practice on for the workshop, but the skills you'll learn on the day will allow you to work effectively on your own images too.
