I'm off to celebrate. This woman put in place the foundations upon which our present "society" was built. The social damage she did was unprecedented and the effects are still very much with us.

The best thing about Thatcher was what she did for 'Spitting Images'.

We will now be subjected to days of storys of how "great" she was, although Merton and Hislop will have a field Day.

I'm sure it won't differ too much from the predictable spite filled rhetoric that'll populate these threads

I was waiting for the third one.
It was my dad's funeral last Wednesday.
This morning I drove Jitka to the airport as her uncle is being laid to rest tomorrow.
And now the Iron Lady has gone.
It's been a sad fortnight.
I think tonight I may catch the train to Grantham and sink a few drams of Famous Grouse.

R.I.P. Mrs T. She did what had to be done for the good of the Country and with a real sense of duty rather than what could she get out of it. Unlike some of the idiots of recent times. She was a truly Great Briton.

Shew did what had to be done to repair the damage done to the UK economy by a combination of out of control unions and successive Labour governments that pandered to them. Whilst she wasn't perfect and made mistakes, by and large she succeeded. I'm old enough to remember the state of the country in 1979, the shambolic mess left by Callaghan's Labour. I was brought up in a Socialist minded family, but my memories of the 70's have left me incapable of voting Labour again. Now after another 13 years of Labour government look at the shambolic mess we're in once more. It astonishes me how people are quite happy to blame the cure and not the cause.

Well said cheeky
An amazing woman who taught the lazy unions, IRA and the Argies not to mess with her.

I can't believe people on here are celebrating her death. Ok, she had her faults, so despise or dislike her if that's how you feel, but celebrating her death is a bit unjust.

an old lady died someones mother, sister, grandmother are you really proud of yourselves this is whats wrong with the world - weather you agree or not with what she did, celebrating a frail old woman's death says far more about you as people than her
