I have never read so much crap in my life. I am (obviously ) Elite myself - but would at most have described myself as middle class under the old system.

I did this test and it told me I was a minor Royal. Which is nice.

I was 'Elite' until I gave up the day job last summer......now I seem to be 'working class'....such a rapid fall from grace!!!

Technical middle class. I was doing okay until I admitted knowing a lorry driver socially, that started my fall from grace!

This was me.

Emergent service workers

This class group is financially insecure, scoring low for savings and house value, but high for social and cultural factors. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

Are young
Enjoy a cultured social life
Rent their home - almost 90%

Correct.(broke)
Correct.(I rent)
correct.(Spend my life with friends)

Wrong(Im ancient)
Correct.

Can't agree with any of it. Fails to take various obvious factors into account, - how one speaks, whether or not one has tattoos or piercings, owns a horse, uses a handkerchief, spits, irons creases in one's jeans, chews gum, buys lottery tickets, uses Nikon or Canon.....

You are right...us Canon users are obviously in the Elite category.....but what about film users using Canon gear? Much harder to place! Looking back over the questions asked...film is obviousy 'arts and crafts'...so a double bonus for me!!

I just can't see why I am still 'working class' according to the wizard....I even went to a proper art school !blush

The quiz seems very sensitive to a couple of the questions ... in my case I flick between two categories depending on what seems like different answers to a couple of questions... also, if I say that I'm a photographer rather than a 'tog', I jump up three places Well done Britain for its continuing fascination with class

Everyone knows that the true test of class is whether or not you get out of the bath to have a wee.

Apparently technical middle class, out of interest I went back and changed a couple of things -who I socialise with but it had no bearing on the outcome..
Is it just the income they judge this from?
