Just a bit of a survey really.

My spam box has found a new set of trash, no longer do I get XXX porn, viagra, get rich quick via Nigerian Banking generosity....... I have new horrid stuff, PPI claims, how to become a gas engineer and Poker sites.

Is it my surfing or is this a general change??

It gets worse with fake 'invoices' using legit e-mails. Derby City Council, Vodaphone, Orange, O2, Lloyds, City of London parking and more are all being impersonated with e-mails that has a payload and it's not just Windows that's targeted. There's been a few that's been pointed towards OSX and Android.

They seem to come in waves every other week. PPI/Bankrupty Orders are just a sign of the times with people being desperate for cash.

Are you a google or facebook user? They make thier money selling your details. The more information you give them, the more targeted the spam becomes.

Try installing 'ghostery' on your browser, see how many people are tracking you.

I use chrome most of the time or firefox; with Arsemag-dot-com I have my privacy settings set to the max, I am a ninja, I won't even have chat turned on in case one of my friends starts talking to me, you know that awkward moment you've chatted enough and they keep replying!

Have you tried that Ghostery, I just had a read, might give it a go if it helps me become more stealth

I just cancelled talk talk........no surprise there!

Received their e-mail with the MAC. This was legit.

Several hours later I received a look-a-like e-mail requesting the bank verification password to clear the last payment. I was very suspicious. It also directed us to a semi functonal cloned website. Account name and password entry worked but nothing else (no I didn't enter anything).

Someone selling on details in accounts?

Given the realism of the mail and site I can fully understand how some are taken in.
