Doubt if any models will read this, but I'll use the thread as a reference for future correspondence on the subject.

Models generally seem under the misconception that if you work for a members only paysite then the content can only be seen by paying members. This is a reasonable assumption to make, but entirely inaccurate. The full galleries and full videos can only be seen legally by paying members, but any paysite relies on promotion and traffic.

They will regularly supply part galleries/old galleries/video clips to affiliates and promo companies. Remember if someone has paid you to pose for published content, they want as many people as physically possible to be aware of its existance...why wouldn't they?

This doesn't even take into account stolen content. Every single gallery of any note will be stolen by file sharers the minute it goes live.

You can see free content of almost any popular model simply by googling her and clicking on the links. Most of these links are sponsored by the owner of the content and one of the biggest boom areas on the internet is hosting these free gallery sites.

Again, the bottom line is dont expect to do any glamour or adult content and think it wont be easily accesable to anyone who chooses to search for you, thats not how the internet works. And also, don,t expect it to ever go away...it wont, even if the original source removed the content, it would be a physical impossibility to remove all the promo content and particularly all the stolen stolen content.

An internet paysite gallery is a bit like a raging wildfire, it starts of in one place, in days it has spread to numerious places, in weeks it is out of control and nothing can be done until it eventually burns out, but whatever you do it will still keep smouldering away and will pop up occassionally when you least expect it.

In simple terms if a picture is taken it will be visible to all.

I don't know why people do not understand this.

Whether it is for my purestorm folio or flikr etc or for Twisty's etc they will be visible to all.

Your Mun, Dad, 13 year old brother will probably see the pics at some point.

If I may be forgiven for widening the topic, I would also add that not only will your photos and videos definitely be seen by all and sundry, but they will also eventually be seen alongside EVERY modelling name you've used for every kind of modelling (and in some cases, your real name once that has leaked out).

There are sites where you can type in a model name, and it instantly a) links to vast numbers of examples of stuff that model has done for pay sites of EVERY kind; and b) gives a handy list of all the modelling names that model has ever used.

And sorry to add to this but with face recognition software emerging then all images will soon be linked easily.

This works by having a single image of who you are looking for and then it will find all other matching images on the internet, this will be fully on line within a year or two at most.

Another key post, as often Iain.

I just hope this has not been spurred on by any paticular examples where it was mis-understood.

Some of us know this and don't care. As far as I'm concerned, I show up, do my job, get paid and come home. If the content is stolen then it's the studio or webmaster losing money, not I. It's sad, but it's not my business.

Pictures are available for everyone to see the second they hit the web, members only or otherwise.

I think this is quite an informative topic - but I think the initial responsibility lies with the photographer when he / she  makes a work offer to a model (somewhere in that work offer / details should be the consequences of doing this work ... whether it's a new model or not, they should be asked to read it and say they have read it) Then after reading the work offer models then makes a decision to do or not do the work. The responsibility then rests totally with the model.

You're right once it on the internet its there for life - and that should be clearly understood. Pissed off with boyfriends / partners suddenly appearing on the scene and wanting the work removed ...not a chance in hell (I make no apologies for my language).

However, on the flip side there are loads of girls out there happy with their work in the adult industry and that should also be noted (worked with loads of them and they are among the most well mannered and professional people I've had the pleasure to meet).

Yes, this a good post and well worth thinking over.

I'm tending to get more pictures of me plastered over the internet - to my mind they are as tame as anything you might see hanging on the wall of a national museum, but there are a few odd folks out there!

Ian makes good points.

We just tried to book a model for a very nice classy shoot with a top guy, payment by return of invoice etc etc. The so called agent demanded to know where pictures would be sold and how much and what percentage would they get on top etc etc, we asked if they they would like to have all the pictures and we just pick up the tab! Reply was ok to shoot for a pay site as published work gives over exposure!Joke is we are also looking for models for trips and I am sure she was never even told.

Of course good published work gets more work for models and many stock calendars are rarely seen outside of the trade

They send girls to work for big sites that are viewed by millions or some guy who shoots in his back room or garden shed after a days work on the trains or whatever and then supplies images to every site going with the same result!

No problem with that but just shows the logic of people who call themselves agents.

When I first started modelling I was an idiot and didn't think this would happen... However I was part time there and didn't want anyone in my day job seeing my bits and bobs...
Now I just understand that goes with the territory and happy for all to see me in All my glory !!
