Hello I have a long scar from my nose to my lip. Sometimes the light hits it the wrong way and it looks terrible. I was wondering if you have any tips on how to cover it up. I already use foundation and powder but because Its a deep scar it doesnt really do much. Help please! Thank you xxx

Work with photographers who don't hit it with the wrong light!

Deep scarss are hard to cover up because you have to fill them in somewhat...emrace it as part of you!...just remember to tell people before they book you so atleast you're being honest.

Sorry that wasn't very helpful!

+1 and most photographers can photoshop it out but make sure to state it on your profile that its there so they are aware of this, maybe even put one picture up showing it? Good Luck theres a few links to similar scar problems http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110319235830AATCQ4F http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?43101-How-do-I-hide-a-scar-on-my-face http://www.livestrong.com/article/22881-tips-makeup-hide-scars/

Hiya lovely,

When you apply foundation and powder does the scar go back to normal skin colouring? Is it the texture of your skin that looks bad or the colour? If it's the colour I could probably help you. Feel free to drop me a message

Thanks everyone. Hey Jesse, the colour doesnt stand out at all, its literally just the indent you can see. When im facing the camera you cant see it, its just when im side on you can see it quite clearly. Is there any sort of make up i could use to cover it? Something really thick im guessing Thank you xx

Try the Red Cross.

Yes, seriously; they do special camouflage make-up courses for people with serious scarring to help cover it up. Yours does not sound nearly serious enough but they are nice people.

Yeah definitely try derma blend. You can get Vichy - Dermablend in boots, it comes in a stick form or a foundation form. Or maybe next time you do a shoot hire a MUA who can do camouflage make up that wouldn't mind teaching you how to cover it yourself . Jesse xx

I use a palette called extreme make up by The Dermacolour specialists. Its only £25 or so and its a palette of super thick concealers..16 different shades, goes on beautifully and would sit in your scar well, then you can blend it in and powder )

Hey hun I have scars across my stomach from an accident a while ago. Ive never had them covered as its easy to pose coering them... On your face though must be difficult! I cant give you advice on how to cover?blend it i'm afraid but I can highly recommend Jesse! Sorry I've not been more helpful but I'm sure she can be To shadow what others have said though, embrace it! Its a part of you as are mine and although I hate all the questions that come with it, I dont mind having them in the shot if the tog doesnt mind Good luck!

Hiya,

If the scar is indented no make up not even Vichy or Dermablend will hide that, however you can get a product called Dermaflage which is a silicone based product that you use to fill the indented area, it's not terribly expensive and does work very well.

I do a significant amount of work for Katie Piper and her foundation helping people with this type of issue so am very aware of the products available on the market, if memory serves there are some videos on youtube for this product that shows it's uses.

If you require further assistance then please email me.

Estee Lauder Maximum Cover is also excellent at hiding scars and it photographs beautifully. Xxx
