Overview: This is a one day course aimed at those who wish to learn how to use single and multiple strobes in a creative way. The course is suitable for owners of any make of DSLR although a small amount of time is spent looking at how the Canon and Nikon systems work.
The morning is a classroom based session where we will look at using camera manufactures own units as well as third party, how to trigger the units, different modifiers and the effects they can give. After a short refreshment break you will learn how to control the mix of flash and ambient light to give both natural and surreal effects. Finally you will learn how using a combination of white balance and gels can give highly creative results.
After a light light lunch our model will join us and we will put into practice the techniques that have been learnt during the morning.
Students are encouraged to submit work for critique after the workshop. Refreshments are provided including a light lunch, please advise us in advance of any special dietary requirements.
