PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE IN A NEW VENUE!
We will be trying a new venue! This time, it is a bit out of the City Centre, but is easy to get to via car and bus, and has free on road parking around the venue.
Just also a quick announcement: I have taken over from Fran - her career has meant that she's not been able to put the time into running the meetings, etc., so I have stepped in on her behalf. I would like to thank her for all her hard work over the last 3 years or so,
Wednesday 20th April - 7:30pm onwards.
The King's Arms
168 Whiteladies Road
We are on the Upper mezzanine (walk in through the door, turn right and go up 2 levels, ask at the bar if you can't see us).
Web site: http://www.kingsarmsbristol.com
The Kings Arms is almost right at the top of Whiteladies Road, next door to Miss Millies and directly opposite an Esso Petrol station.
The number 8 bus (and I believe the 9, but it takes a slightly different route) travels past this venue, which you can hop on at Temple Meads Train station, or St Augustine's Parade (City Centre outside the Hippodrome). If you end up at Bristol Zoo, you've gone too far.
The Clifton Down train station is also a few minutes walk down the road.
Please BRING ID. As far as I know, you do not need ID to enter, but bring it just in case (you may be asked at the bar if you order alcohol).
Any questions, feel free to post them on the thread - all the regulars are very friendly
What to Bring?
2. Portfolio (if you have one)
3. Business Cards (if you have them
4. Cash for the bar (if you want a drink)
I would just like to remind people that while these meetings were "born" on another, similar, site (and still promoted over there, it is no longer just for members of that site. The meetings are for any photography related "creatives" who are within travelling distance that would like to attend.
Anyone is welcome, and while they are held in Bristol, we now cover the South West - we have had people turn up from the Midlands, London/M4 corridor, Wales, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon and I believe Dorset.
It is true that the meetings have been poor over the last few months, but they are now under new management and are being promoted again. We also have a new (and hopefully better) venue to try and encourage more people to come along.
You don't have to book a place, and while it would be nice if you let people know that you intend to come along by posting here, you can just turn up on the night if you wish.
