Do any of you use make up contracts for bridal work? Not sure if this is a necessity or not.

thanks

Hi Sophie,

oooh sounds a bit too faffy for me lol.

I just take 50% upfront prior to the trial this is non refundable should the bridal party cancel as you will get a lot of people messing you around otherwise.

This works as my contract and I've never had anyone complain about paying a deposit as they will do this for the dress, cake venue etc so they dont usually have a problem with it.

Hope this helps,
Claire

Yes I have one. When you've been screwed over as many times as I have it's essential!

Seriously, I wouldn't work without one. I worked in law for 13 years so I've drawn it up to pretty much cover everything. It includes things like deposits/cancellations, photography and what the pictures will be used for, liability etc.

I've got current court proceedings against one bride at the moment where I would have not been able to bring the claim if I didn't have a signed contract.

I've been doing bridal make up for over 14 years and never had need for a contract, always been paid, initially I had some late cancellations but I foolishly in the beginning didn't take a deposit, now I take a 50% deposit at the trial and I don't have cancellations any more.

This is interesting, would you mind sending me a copy? I would like to see what it covers as its something I've not really thought about or needed.

Oh no what happened there?

Yeah it would be good to see a copy if you don't mind? I have drawn up some lose terms and conditions but just want to see I have included every thing!
