I had my second shoot with Becs recently & as before she is an inspiring model & a beautiful young woman.Becs is also a talented artist & has a strong alternative look.In spite of her disability Becs has a great enthusiasm for modelling & always enjoys the challenge.I shot Becs in her spacious house with nice garden this time & I can thoroughly recommend a shoot with her.

My name is Rebecca and I have a progressive rare condition of the nervous system called Friedreich's Ataxia, affecting my balance and co-ordination,hence using a wheel chair for the past 6 years. I began modelling at a slow sensible pace 4 years ago now and with much more experience under my belt, I am now enjoying much more work with many different photographers and in many different locations and styles. I live independantly in a village in Devon,South West England. I am currently doing voluntary work as the chairperson of a support group in the west country for anyone affected by ataxia which i started 5 yrs ago. I have lived and studied an associate degree in applied psychology in Hong Kong and graduated in 2006 with distinction. I have a passion for travelling and have been to alot of places around the UK and the world! An artist in my spare time, mainly creating abstract acrylic on canvas focussing on colour, texture and anything that sparkles!I focus them on other people with them in mind and so usually give them away. This year, I have been beggining to enjoy graffity and spray painting. With the competitiveness of the modelling world today many disabled models may be overlooked. Within the fashion and modelling industry we are learning that whatever disability you have there is a need to be inclusive when it comes to disabled models and not just to advertise wheelchairs, specific disabled products and sporting gear! The majority of mainstream advertising does not feature disability, even though in reality disability is actually all around us. I would like to do modelling because I want to prove to the world that 'being disabled' can be beautiful too and get disability seen more as an 'enabling phenomina' rarther than a 'disabling phenomina' .I would like disability to be seen in a positive light.my style is very adaptable. I enjoy meeting new people and although my wheels restrict access at many locations, I happen to be very light and where there's a will, there's a way! .please email me about anything...
