Yo, here’s the blurb about me .... I OFFER PAID WORK! Yep, that’s right .... I’m perfectly happy to pay female models for shoots :) BUT, here’s the catch, well it’s not so much a catch as a requirement – you have to be good at modelling. You know, - have talent, confidence, comfortable in front of the lens, a little bit of previous experience and, be able to deliver some kick-ass poses - that type of stuff.
Also, intelligence, clear communication & good organisational skills are a massive bonus too, i’m not intimidated by models who have brains as well as beauty. It’s also nice to get on with people, so chatty, friendly, down-to-earth with a nice personality is just fine with me too :)
Previously, i’ve had the absolute pleasure & delight of working with the most amazing models. Shooting with them has been awesome & I would more than welcome the chance to work with them again. I’m also happy to meet some new faces too, but please appreciate I’ve photographed some really talented ladies – I’m now at the stage where I’m looking for models with real ability only!
I’m based in Yorkshire. Obviously, I’m happy to travel to you but this is limited to Yorkshire & surrounding areas, so that’s the north east, north west & midlands. Please don’t ask to shoot if you’re further away than this, I’m not prepared to travel that far, nor will I cover your travel expenses.
I don’t currently have anywhere to shoot from, so we probably have 3 main options:
OUTDOOR SHOOT – Well, I guess that makes the world our studio, but in truth, I’m not a massive fan. I mean, what if it’s bloody raining?
HOME SHOOT – Shooting from a model’s home is probably the most practical solution. You don’t have to live in a stately home, but that would be nice (joke). But at least needs to be nice & tidy - ever seen photos from a home shoot where the model is surrounded by clutter, uggggh, don’t they just look awful?
STUDIO SHOOT – For the right model I am actually happy to book a studio. However, this will only be an option for models that I know are reliable. Over the last 3 years I’ve had enough last minute ‘Can’t come. I’m ill’ text messages to know that for some models turning up is an optional extra. Please don’t let me book somewhere & then cancel on me.
I’m a hobbyist photographer. Occasionally, I may ask for a signed full model release, but I’ll always specify this in the casting or pre-shoot comms. Most shoots are entirely for my own enjoyment.
I prefer to work in a relaxed & friendly environment. I know models are human beings with feelings & therefore I won’t treat you like a piece of meat. I won’t continuously bark orders at you. I won’t start to make sleazy & suggestive comments because watching you pose has made me feel all horny.
While shooting, if you’re looking amazing & posing your little heart out, i may well pay you a million complements – that’s just my way. Also, my sense of humour does occasionally involve the odd wind-up or gently teasing you – please don’t take me seriously or you may end up wanting to break my nose.
I have given paid work to models who are shy, nervous, talentless and, in one case, completely f**king useless & it’s a pretty empty feeling knowing you’ve paid someone who doesn’t deliver the goods. After all, if you want paid modelling work you should actually be able to model – that’s only fair, right?
I’m very reluctant to give paid work to newbie models – you’re probably wasting your time in asking. Although some models are blessed with natural talent, the best models I’ve worked with treat this as their career & have taken time to develop their abilities, confidence, poses & portfolios – and this is VERY evident in the end product they deliver. If you are a beginner (who is serious about modelling) I strongly suggest working TF rather than risk disappointing your photographers by getting paid & giving sub-standard results (just my two cents on the matter).
I’ve discovered that jealous, possessive or unsupportive boyfriends make the worst chaperones. If you’re the proud owner of one of these, then I’m afraid he isn’t invited to our photo shoot.
In all seriousness though, I do appreciate you have the right to be safe & may need a driver / chaperone to accompany you to the shoot - that’s fine. But please don’t dress it up that he’s your helper / your assistant / your inspiration & that he MUST sit in on the shoot – that’s not fine – for any other job you wouldn’t take someone to work, would you? If you’re not comfortable being alone with me during a shoot, please don’t accept the booking.
Pleeeease, only message me if you’re suitable! I do occasionally block models who contact me for shoots, why? Here’s the reason. Time & time again models have responded to my castings and tried to change the criteria specified to suit themselves & this really boils my piss. Sorry, but if you cannot match my requirements I will not offer you a booking.
I no longer offer second chances! I’ve learnt the hard way that there are lots of ‘models’ who are just utter time wasters. If you cancel, no-show or significantly waste my time during pre-shoot comms then I will no longer have any more interest in ever offering you work. Sorry, but it’s just happened too many times previously, giving a 2nd chance has only resulted in a 2nd cancellation :(
So, would you like to shoot with me? Remember - you need to be drop dead gawjus, have an absolutely smokin’ body, be uber confident while completely butt naked, and, in general, be God’s gift to modelling. You need to work your ass off getting me some awesome piccys & I demand perfection. Apart from all that please feel free to get in touch. You might just persuade me to give you a booking :)
Had a small studio for 3 years. Published in Nuts, Zoo & The Sun newspaper (online).
