I'm a hobbyist photographer, who has tried to learn through experience what it takes to create better than good images. My interest in photography started by attending events such as car shows or local events (as a spectator) with a compact camera (and, heaven forbid, disposable cameras when the batteries died!). I always admired the photography I'd see from other spectators and dreamed of being able to produce work similar (or dare to believe better) to their standards.
My interests lie in model (studio/home/location) shoots, motorsport photography, sports photography, event photography, city-scapes, sea-scapes, (landscapes to a lesser extent) and wildlife/nature photography. I do not own my own studio, so I rely on travelling to and hiring venues. I would strongly argue that whilst I've paid out a considerable amount towards equipment, studio and model hiring, I could have done far worse with the money and see it as an investment into the future, not only in terms of portfolio building, but finding my style. I don't wish to corner myself into being a one-trick pony who can only shoot certain styles (though I do like certain lighting effects over others).
I'm happy to offer paid work, but would gladly accept and offer TF work too. I'm told I create a very relaxed and friendly environment to work in and have plenty of positive references available for viewing, if required.
I'm a North Wales-based photographer with nearly 4 years experience. My interests lie in model photography (studio/home/location), motorsport photography, event photography, city-scapes, (landscapes to a lesser extent) and wildlife/nature photography. I've had worked published in local and regional newspapers, as well as monthly and quarterly gazettes for shire horse and horse driving society publications. I've also done work on behalf of motoring website GTSpirit.com at Autosport International.
As I work full-time, I am sadly unable to physically devote 24/7 to photography, but what free time I do have I set aside to photography, even if it's just researching new ideas, or developing my own skills as a photographer and editing. I am also willing to consider studio/location workshop and tutorial sessions to help improve my work.
My thanks to everyone that has helped me so far with advice both at studios and on the forums and inbox messages and thanks for all the opportunities so far to gain experience.
