John is one of the most talented photographers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He really is a true artist, as is very clear from his incredible and extensive portfolio. John has a clear vision of what he would like to achieve from a shoot and gave great instruction to me when required. Pretty much every shot we did came out beautifully! John and his lovely wife Anna made me feel very comfortable during the shoot and were very friendly and accommodating, even providing me with a very tasty lunch! They are both very easy going and chatty and I really enjoyed sharing stories throughout the day and getting to know each other. I would absolutely love to work with John again. Great fun and incredible results - what more could you possibly ask for!

john is such a fantastic creative photographer, he is the most creative photographer I have worked with. his work has always inspired me and to actually have the chance to work with john was a great opportunity and fantastic experience. john is a true professional, very artistic and likes to bring something different to a shoot which makes a shoot with him really interesting and fun. As well as being a wonderful photographer, he is also a wonderful person. you feel at ease and comfortable straight away. he is friendly, chatty, laidback and a genuinely lovely person. I highly recommend john 110% to all models of any experience and really look forward to working together again Emily xxx

John is a very kind and considerate chap, although the location we worked at involed an element of risk taking(and bravery!)he made sure my safety and comfort were top priority. He is a perfectionist in setting the scene, lighting and final pose, his stunning images are testiment to what a good artist/photographer he is. Great fun, amazing pictures, thanks John, looking forward to working with you again soon.

To work with John is to experience both the levity and the gravity of true artistry. He is genuine, friendly and downright fun, and is able to keep you completely relaxed and at ease – but at the same time, he can take you to the exact “place” you need to be in order to realise the image. John is a visionary, and gives fantastic direction and feedback to achieve what he sees, but he isn’t a slave to his vision; he is incredibly open to creative input and is more than happy to explore ideas. Best of all, his shoots are hugely productive. He knows when something works and when he’s got “the shot” – he’ll happily fine-tune a pose to reach perfection, but he doesn’t waste time if it’s not working… or if it has already worked! A master of his craft and a real model’s photographer, John is creative, considerate, and shooting with him is both a pleasure and a privilege.

I had such an excellent photo shoot with John. He was the first professional photographer I have worked with and it has given me more interest to work hard in the modeling side. He was very relaxed which made me relaxed, was polite, courteous and patient with me at every point. I would be very happy to work with him again. Thank you John

Have always been a fan of John's amazing Art Nude photography, so was more more than delighted when he offered me a shoot at an amazing Victorian Gothic Mansion in Gloucestershire. It was worth getting up at 4am for! The whole day flowed easily and John's photographic skills meant I had some fabulous images for my portfolio. John is wonderful to work with, knows exactly the shot he is looking for, so his direction skills are second to none; he really is master of his camera lens. Loved the whole day John...thank you so much for booking me for such an extraordinary experience, wouldn't have missed it for the world and you were brilliant entertaining company on the long drive there and back. John is a thoroughly recommended, highly skilled photographer.

Had a great shoot with John today despite technical difficulties with the wandering public. He is a lovely gentleman, who always made sure I was comfortable with each idea and situation throughout the shoot. Thank you again xxx

I had the pleasure of working with John again last week, alongside James. This was probably our most challenging shoot to date. We were quite limited for time so had to work at a fast pace and John was excellent with clear and concise direction (as always!) and communicating his ideas and how he wanted each shot. I really enjoy working with John, he's incredibly fun to work with and dealt with what was quite a tricky location and of course two models to work with, under some pressure, with lots of good humour and professionalism. I would not hesitate to recommend working with John, we worked our socks off but managed to have a blast doing it. Really looking forward to working with John again. Thanks John :-D

Had a fab shoot with John. We were both shattered from late nights due to work, however, we got some absolutely fab pics. He had some great ideas and knew exactly what he wanted which made it tons easier to model for him. Very friendly, welcoming and great photographer. Jay

I have now done two shoots with John, one in studio and one on dartmoor in some of the most trying conditions I've yet encountered in my modeling career. John was not only professional but fun to to work with! He knows exactly what he's after in a shot and how to go about capturing it. He's also adept at seeing an unplanned scenario that lends it self photograph. I highly recomend him as a photographer and am very much looking forward to our next shoot!

TECHNICAL STUFF: I have some important house rules which include: prior agreement on what work we are intending to do at our session; your promise that you will show up on the date (and on time)! A private changing space (dependent on location) and a dressing gown to wear between shots (so you can preserve some modesty); no physical contact between photographer and model; signed model release on the work to be undertaken. If you are under 25 (or look it - lucky you) I will photograph you holding a valid form of photo ID. I rarely work with anyone under 20 and never with a model aged under 18. If I am paying you, payment will be made at the start of the session, and if we are working TF then I will only release fully edited and watermarked images. Because my editing takes a huge amount of time, this can often be weeks after the session. Sorry!

This is quite a revealing genre of photograhy, and I have no problems with natural stretch marks, tattoos, etc. But if you shave, please make sure you are neat and tidy, and if you don't please make sure you are neatly trimmed. I won't work with a model covered in clothing marks (so please wear loose clothes prior to the shoot). I have found that it is impossible to do this kind of work with your partner present (unless they are part of the shoot), but if you are happier with a chaperone we can discuss that. We will often work in quite challenging locations, so please be prepared for that, but I do want you to feel safe, so I'm always happy with 'check calls' throughout the session, and full details left with a friend so that someone always knows where you are.

I also welcome the ideas of my models in the development of work, and shots are constantly reviewed and discussed with the model throughout the shoot - I want my models to feel comfortable working with me, and to be a full part of the creative process.

If you want fees, I'll be happy to pay pay fees (within reason, and within reasonable limits). If you would like to pay me to make a portfolio for you, then we can negotiate. If you'd like TFP or TFCD then of course I'll be delighted. Much of the time, we agree a mix of both... Win Win!

We also like to have some fun and laughs, and so my sessions are usually pretty relaxed and lighthearted, with your favourite music in the background if you remember to bring it!

Experience
I'm lucky enough to be based in beautiful Cornwall, but with a studio in an artist's group in Exeter, and a range of art nude and commercial work throughout the South and South West. From my first studio in London's Covent Garden way back the early 1970s, I have around 40 years of professional photographic experience, working all over the country for books, magazines, artists and galleries. I've got work in the National Portrait Gallery, and I've recently been elected as a member of 'The Guild of Erotic Artists'.

I'm particularly interested in working in Black & White, and exploring the 'boundaries' of fine art nude photography. So I've recently published (July 2013) a book called 'The Edgy Nude', and I'm currently working on a series of Erotic Nude fine art prints.

I love working with people who have a strong awareness of their body, and who are able to bring a sensual element to their poses - my way of working is to build a rapport between model and photographer, so that we create images together as a 'team'. So I love working with dancers, gymnasts, martial arts enthusiasts, as well as anyone (male or female) who has this strong sense of self-awareness.

I don't do 'implied nude', and although a lot of my images are quite subtle, a lot of them can also be quite 'full frontal' - so please don't ask me to work with you if you aren't comfortable with being naked. But I try to be considerate and polite, I have a 'no-touch' rule, and I will never insist on a pose you are not happy with!
