Worked with Colin recently as part of a group shoot at Virtual Candy in Warrington had a ball!! Colin is friendly, polite and professional at all times and has some great ideas. It was obvious that he is a very experienced photographer. I have no hesitation in recommending Colin to any model and I am looking forward to working with him again :)

So my main photo interests are in portrait/figure/glamour, and abstract/fine art photography. What is "fine art"? Nobody can really pinpoint it!!. My hero is 1930's American Edward Weston, who is famous for his nudes and peppers - no not in the same picture!! He was a master of lighting, which is what photography is all about. Following on from that, I love the lighting of the Hollywood photographers in their heyday, the beautiful portraits they created are awesome. So I followed them for many years, but now am after something a bit more "edgy", black & white, contrasty, dramatic directional lighting, or light, fairy like, ephemeral, fragile......like some of this stuff CosPlay people do.

I have my own set of studio flash, and backdrops, including "green screen", which means you are photographed against a green background, so your image can easily be cut out and placed against any desired background - photographed in Liverpool, looking like you are in Barbados!!! A marvel of the digital age? no the concept goes back to that Hollywood age!! So, I have the lights, but no studio, using local facilities as required. But I do like location photography. Pretty girl, derelict building, or maybe the sand dunes at Formby, or the woods - argh!!! but the weather......

So that's my story, come join me if you will, travel to new ideas, push what we know into the unknown, produce art that we know, and art that we do not yet know exists...

Experience
I took up photography in 1969, photographing everything and anything, learning the ropes as a self taught photographer. Having won a couple of Photo Club competitions, I lost interest, mainly because of those competitions. Then some 15 years ago I had a renewed enthusiasm and went down the digital route. Ouch!!! that was painful, especially for the wallet!! So now do all my processing in Photoshop, with assorted other programs. Although working as amateur for so long, I have been a semi-pro for a number of years and would love to make a living at it. I have done a number of model portfolios, publicity shots for a couple of bands, photographed a couple of "victims" for the L'Oreal hairdresser of the year competition. 2010 I was one of four official photographers for the Liverpool "Pride", and covered the Liverpool Lifestyles magazine awards ceremony at the Liverpool Hilton, as reportage but also included an onsite studio, so those attending could have a memento of the occasion
