I can do conventional, traditional portraits quite easily and want to develop the more dynamic and creatively lit styles. So keen to work with models who want something special, not just the normal stuff. Girls with interesting clothing, hair and makeup ideas, discussing shots and working together to get striking shots we both like. Photographers whose work inspires me are Kate Hopewell-Smith and Trevor Yerbury.
I have my own ideas and shoot plans, and a model's input will help refine and materialise them. I don't bite, swear, get angry or remove clothing!! I am friendly and chatty but also professional and hard working, happy to take on my model's ideas, and a bit of a coffee and chocaholic.
If you do a shoot with me, we'll have a set of image ideas to work on which we will have discussed beforehand, there'll be some breaks for coffee/tea and reviewing images so far, your iPod on the sound system (at a low level!), plus a fair amount of chat and fun. Within the following week I'll have images for you to look at and choose you favourites, which I'll retouch and let you have on a memory stick or as a download.
So if you have a portfolio you want to update or have ideas for images you'd like to have, let me know and let's see what amazing images we can achieve together.
Been occasionally shooting portraits for decades, some were paid commissions and some TFP. I have a 40'x20' room in my home with studio flash, reflectors, backgrounds, etc that makes a great studio, or am happy to travel out to locations when preferable. I do retouch all my portrait work using Photoshop and Portrait Professional software.
Awarded Licentiate status for the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers recently. Qualification was by sending 20 portrait photographs for judging by three highly qualified professionals on the SWPP Judging Panel.
