In the past 10 years I decided to develop my craft by rising to the challenge of portrait photography. Work for pay or trade and happy to negotiate to share costs. If you're wanting to build your portfolio or update it, and you like my work - please get in touch and I'm sure we can use one of my regular studio days so long as you're willing to contribute towards the studio hire.
I believe it is possible to capture the true beauty within each person and this only happens when they feel relaxed. So it is really important to me that you feel relaxed and comfortable.
I’m fortunate to have a few excellent studios close by that I use on a regular basis. I also have access to portable equipment for location shoots, which allows for adding context to images. Love images to tell a story or prompt a question in the viewers mind.
I like all genres but especially Beauty, Boudoir; Artistic Nude, Cosplay and Artistic Erotica ( often it’s what you don’t see that makes the image. I aim also to hone required skills to create images that pull all these together, appear less posed and more voyeuristic, remain feminine yet evocative); More recently I find myself drawn to fashion photography and aim to explore bodyscapes too.
I am interested in creating beautiful and emotive images of all types taking inspiration from Salleh Sparrow, Rowan Murray, Jack Russell and like unusual juxtapositions taking my influences from Helmut Newton and Banksy, among others.
I’m keen to work with MUA, and prop designers and also build sets that help add context & drama to images and happy to discuss ideas and collaborate on potential projects.
I shoot regularly and have a frequent user arrangement with my local very well equipped studio. I've worked hard to develop my craft to a high standard including attending various workshops and training events, such as 2 x Jack Russell workshops; Boudoir workshop, Off Camera Flash workshop, Location flash workshop, Night shooter workshop, High fashion and make-up workshop, and a Dance Photography workshop all run by Andrew Appleton.
I'm skilled at posing models well and have great attention to detail. I also have my own portable lighting kit which I use for home shoots as well as location work
I believe taking the time to build a set for a shoot adds to the final image quality.
