With my portrait work I like to go for the natural look. I like finding everyday models, capturing the natural beauty that's in everyone. Also love doing gothic/fantasy styled shoots and experimenting with that type of style.
One project I'm currently working on and looking for model for is something called REDEFINING BEAUTY, which aims to move away from today’s conventional view of beauty. Where you have to look, act, or be a certain way to be viewed as beautiful.
In a world where today’s beauty is false and people are moulded into a conveyor belt of stereotyped beauty. Where we all have to look the same and individuality is frowned against. ABO Photography wants to prove that everyone is beautiful in they’re own way, no matter what size, shape, colour, etc that you are. We want to embrace everyone’s individuality to show they’re true beauty.
At the end of this project I hope to publish photo-books and possibly a calendar, which contributions from the sales of these will be donated to charity. The charity has yet to be decided, but will a charity relating to eating disorders or self-image.
To take part in this project we’re looking for men and women 18+ of all sizes, shapes, colours etc. All you require is enthusiasm
I am a semi-professional photographer based in Sheffield (South Yorkshire). To date I have done various shoots from one to one portrait sessions to events and weddings, as well as landscape locations work that I sell from time to time.
I have just recently relocated to Sheffield (April 2011) so at present prefer to do location shoots, as only have a basic home studio at the moment.
I regard myself as semi-professional as this is not my only job, I have been working as semi-professional photographer for the last 5 years (since 2006).
