Experience:
I want to use Purestorm to increase my profile building on my existing reputation, in conjunction with my website, social networking, and other opportunities the web has to offer to get more exposure and reach a wider audience. I have been photographing friends and family for years, covering weddings, christenings and family parties. I enjoy travelling and taking photos in different countries and locations, and it is rare that I ever go anywhere without a camera. Over the years I have increased my knowledge and portfolio by doing photo shoots with top fashion photographer Jon Gray, working with models such as Katie Green, Katy Cee, Fiona York, Anna Kalek, and Karcia. I have done a number of shoots at Jon’s studio in London and with him on location, using both studio flash and natural light, learning as much as possible from him. To build on this experience I have also more recently started working in collaboration with another local photographer Dimitri Walters, using his studio, hiring and organising photo shoots with Purestorm models Klouise and Kate Errington. This has let me experiment further setting up and using different lighting techniques and styles, backgrounds, costumes and props etc. I am keen to develop my technique in Hollywood style lighting, as I think when done right, it gives stunning results. I also have a number of years’ experience photographing dancing shows, photographing the children during the show performance, and then individual portraits of each child which are then sold to the parents. This year I also photographed all the children who took part in the Christmas Pantomime “Peter Pan” at the Pavilion Theatre Worthing. These were taken backstage in costume and then given to the children as a record of their time in the show. I am fully CRB checked and also a licenced chaperone.

Comments:
I have been a keen amateur photographer for over 40 years keeping up with advances in technology from my first Kodak 126 film camera to the sophisticated digital SLR’s I own today. Photography to me is not just a hobby, but a passion and I am always trying to find new subjects, locations and styles. When I see another photographers image I like, I don’t want just copy it, I want improve it and put my own stamp/ style on it, trying different angles, lighting and composition. I try not to get too hung up on the latest technology, as it is the photographer not the camera that creates the image, it is more about choosing the right subject, good composition, and the use of available light to bring the image alive. I believe it is critical that you get the image you want in the camera, instead of relying on digital enhancement software to correct a poorly taken shot, although digital software does have its place sometimes to make a great shot even better. I intend to offer a complete service to models updating and refreshing their portfolio at reasonable prices. I also want to specialise in Portraiture photography, and keen to organise events to give small groups of photographers the opportunity to shoot models in more unusual and interesting locations. One of the main advantages of modern digital photography is that it allows you see what you have taken instantly, allowing you to make any necessary adjustments to improve you final image, and also lets you try different techniques and angles to get want you intended.

Andrew is a great photographer and lovely person. He is willing to share ideas and is very clear in what poses he wants you to portray. We not only had a great shoot but I also received some beautiful flowers, which were highly appreciated. He has wonderful ideas, and we utilised many different props to aid the shoot. His interest is in portraiture mainly but this was evenly balanced with an array of ideas with some fashion work. I recommend working with Andrew, he is a great tog and wonderful genuine person. Thanks Andy for attending our recent studio day and it was good to meet you and, see you shooting both in the studio and in the back yard in the sunshine.

I have worked with Andy at the Brede Pumping Station in April on Jon Gray workshop.
I enjoyed working with him and the rest of the photographers on that day. I had really good fun and I find him easy to work with.
