Brilliant. Thats the only word I can use.

I shot at the hotel with two models and another photographer all from purestorm and we had a wicked time and gained some cracking shots.
The venue have now asked me to re stage the event in January when they have models available to join us alongside any who come from Purestorm. Also in January it will be able to be on a sat or sun thus making it more acessible to people who have to work during the week.
This means that the 12 photographers who wanted to do the shoot will all get the chance again and I hope they will be available. So keep an eye out folks.

From Yesterdays event I have raised £120 which will go directly to Loros Hospice and I will also gift aid it so they will get more.

Thank you Mike, Tina and Nen for coming along and making it a great and fun shoot.

I will keep informed anyone who has shown interest in this shoot regarding my future plans for other venues but will not as such organise group shoots unless models specifically message me interest in being involved in some.

The venues at my disposal are too good to waste so I will definitely do something but probably by personal invitation to interested participants.

Myself and another tog will attend this venue on monday each with a model in tow and the rest of you are welcome to do the same if you like, just let me know by Sun night so I know who to expect.

I would have made arrangements to attend the shoot on the 13th if I had spotted this thread earlier.[sad4] And with the location I would definitely have tried to bring a model along with me.[happy6]

Unfortunately there has still been no response from models.

I will attend the venue myself with a model but unfortunately one model does not make a group shoot.
As I will be there any other photographers who wish to bring a model are welcome to attend.

I have access to other fantastic venues but it would seem that they will not be used for group shoots.

Many thanks to all the photographers who have shown interest and I would welcome any comments/suggestions by pm regarding this situation.

Thank you to the moderation team for their help/explanations and patience with this situation.

As shooting at the venue is still possible I will leave this thread open until Monday but then I will ask the moderators to lock it so please pm me with any questions/ideas.

Would Photographers please stop using the Casting Calls to try to promote this Group Shoot.

Promotion of Group Shoots through the Casting Calls was specifically prohibited (see below) due to past problems

which we do not wish to see surfacing again because of the difficulties (and sometimes distress) they caused.

~§~ Casting Calls, Group Shoots &Tutorials/ Workshops ~§~

¤ 5: The casting call system should not be used for group shoots

Note: The Moderator team has been in direct contact with the organiser to try and explain some of the UK Group Shoot scene issues.

Our recommendation is that interested Photograhers directly contact Models they have worked with in the past to try to persude

them as to what they see being the advantages of shooting at this location and supporting the nominated charity.

I havent said anything about charging models for a lift to the shoot.

The idea is that everyone pays the same to make it fair and £10 is not much to donate to a charity. In return for the donation the models gain free photos from several photographers at a great venue. As a point of interest only a few models have contacted me to say they were unable to attend but no one has mentioned the cost.
I did not expect MUAs to respond as they have costs involved for make up used but if the model response had been good I would have considered covering the costs of a MUA.
What you are suggesting is that the models would be paid expenses as well as gaining free photos while the togs end up paying possibly more than £20 each as well as providing said free photos.

If this is a genuine factor then I would be grateful if any models who are genuinely interested would let me know.

This is a great idea nad a great venue, an I'd love to see it take off.

Can we assume that the poor take up of models and MUA is that they are expected to pay £10 too?

(I know this isnt a lot of money, but we all know what the finances of models can be.)

Even offering the models £10 towards their expenses, split between the togs might help.

great shame no models seems they getting more and more lazy at emails or even being reliable these days

Not all of us are lazy or unreliable. If this was on a weekend I'd have been there like a shot. However, being a weekday means that childcare is more difficult and obvoiusly also adds to the cost of attending a shoot.
