If the worst ever happens call the Police and say there a man with a Knife/Gun breaking in, thats the only way they will respond as they think it's insured and don't really care, breakins are not high on there agender.

Before all the police are great comments I would just like to say most are, but they have always let me down when needed.

Ermm... I'm sure I read somewhere on here once that the OP (Sarge) IS a policeman.

Most police like nothing more than catching a burglar in the act, and i do know exactly what to say to get a fast response. Believe me I KNOW [winking1]

I am going to get it rigged up to the house alarm and already have CCTV covering it (top right shows entrance)...

Yeah I was just going to say something about the security side of this.

This is a fantastic project and you've put a heck of a lot of work into it, it would be a tragedy if a scumbag broke in (it's quite easy to break into a shed from what I hear).

Maybe invest in a CCTV system to put on your house, facing the studio. All it takes is word of mouth that you're doing photoshoots there, and there is likely to be expensive equipment.

Now you have done all that and posted it here get an ALARM put on it, if you don't want some dirt bag breaking in and undoing all your hard work. These forums are not secure any dirt bag out side PS can read them.

If you have a house alarm ask your alarm fitter to connect it into your existing system, that way if your sitting in the house and the alarm goes off you can call the police before the dirt bags know the alarm has gone off. Trust me I know whats it's like to be broken in to (one of the reasons for going to New Zealand).

30/9/12

Not updated for a while so here is the progress so far...
Completed the walls now, all boarded up (wood boards and plaster boards), with insulation between them and the outer skin.
Put a bit a wallpaper on the walls to give a few areas with a background rather than just colours.
I then painted the rest of the walls grey so it doesnt create a colour cast.
Only got the inside roof to do now.

I also bought myself a overhead projector to create images on the wall. I just made some templated and used them. I quite like the results...

How's progress?

Used it a couple of times for model shoots (the newest of Butterfly and Jessicar on my port) and a few for product photography.
I have 2 more shoots planned for this week, one tomorrow of a girl off PS and one on Fri for an ex-PS member.
I have part boarded 2 walls and papered them too. I still need to panel the rest of the inside and ceiling.
Earlier this week I built some steps and a small paved area leading up to the shed.
Nothing much to show, but I will put some photos up later.

this is what i should have done with that 19 x 12.5 shed, i mean workshop i had in my garden before my Ex went gaga and ruined everything....

sold it as a a shed for £800 should have put it on here as a home studio £1500 lol

It looks a good one too [confused4]

I would have bought it (if you would have delivered it too) [happy4]

She used to be on here (Lisa 91) but left due to college commitments.

It was fun and its just good to know i dont have to keep taking my lights apart.
Hopefully my studio work will come on leaps and bounds now.

I am sure when you get an internal wall covering it will look even better.

Its a snoot on the wall mounted flash.

Well, eventually set some lights up to have a mess around.
This took literally 10 minutes (5 of which were me trying to work out why my flash wasnt going off until i realised i had put the transmitter on my camera the wrong way round, lol).
