i have a very old, very sturdy, very heavy old tripod, used previously on a 10x8 plate camera.
it weighs about 20lbs (at a guess, so dont hold me to it).

does anyone have any idea where it'd be best put up for sale ?

i'd prefer it to go to a good home, not a collector that will just have a
stuffed pigeon sitting on top of it as a decorative piece...

thanks, x

Any further details on it? looking for one to take a TOYO 810G Monorail. My current tripod "just" takes it.

hi all, and apologies for very late response, i've been quite unwell with the lurgy

the tripod:

its an old BILORA tripod with tubular legs and twist to tighten to secure a particular position.

it has a gitzo head, with a cork "mat"

the "tilt" part of the head tightening mechanism is now a screwdriver that's had
a bolt welded onto it. although it looks a bit messy, it works just fine.

its a weighty bugger !!!

although my heart says i want to keep hold of it, my head says i wont be using it,
so would like it to go to a home where it'll be used as "him up there" intended
rather than turned into a profit centre by adding a fancy shade and a bulb (which i saw
today in a window in a private home in chelmsford).

i am in chelmsford, and would suggest it'd be good to collect due to its weight.

again apologies for the long delay, but i've been seriously not good with the lurgy

all the best, al

I dug out my old Bilora 1145 a few weeks back. It is heavy... But when I last used it years ago, My camera did indeed feel secure on it. I purchased it from Mr Cad when they were in Croydon.

I proceeded to have a play with it and the winder arm broke off!

So, it is off to the recycling centre next week.
