Sam,
When you can, update your portfolio to better reflect the work you've been doing. Glad the "comments" were helpful, and good luck in pursuing your dreams.

I think that for your first shoot, you didn't have a very good photographer. The lighting was completely flat, and lighting is whatb photography is all about. For example, the one of you lying on your front looking at the camera could have been a really attractive shot if the lighting had been right (or even if it had been pepped up in Photoshop)If I were you, I would look for a photographer who has loads of good photographs in his own poertfolio and do a tf shoot with him. Don't expect to get paid if youbare an amateur - certainly not till you've established a good portfolio. I would be very happy to do a shoot with you on a tf basis - though probably too far away for you - and probably would be above your preferred level. But find that good photographer - and you'll succeed.

Further to my last posting I would add that you say you are amateur with no experience, and yet will only do paid work. Would you employ and pay a builder if he said he was an amateur with no experience? The same thing applies. Until you have some experience, you shouldn't expect to get paid.

And don't fall for the photographers who tell you to do lots of time for CD or prints (TFCD or TFP) before you can get paid work. It's simply not true.

Exactly. As a model the important thing is to have the right look for the assignment. Experience is then a bonus but not a necessity. Paid work for genuine clients often comes with quite specific requirements. You either fit the specification or you don't. If you do, why shouldn't you get paid?
