The problem with 'Front Page Images' here is that they're just the profile pix of the person(s) featured, not necessarily their best or most recent uploads... as discussed elsewhere today, this makes the PS Portal page very staid and uninteresting. Unlike the 'other place' which is more dynamic as a result of there being three separate image sections (FPIs, Popular Images, Recent Images) which are updated constantly... even the FPI section there - the slowest - is updated hourly.

To spell it out

The images on the front page are a selection of worksafe images from the recent uploads by premium members, to see all the latest uploads click on the link on the bottom right of the images. Also to see more images on the homepage when logged in, go to manage profile scroll to bottom, clck on home page settings there you can set how many images appear on the home page.

FPI... HPG...same thing... it's still a little cumbersome compared to the way other sites manage their intro/home pages...
'Random refresh' means you're not necessarily showcasing the artists' best works, surely?

But who decides precisely what is the artist's best work?

The artist(?) themselves, their faux friends on t'internet, a democratic vote of the whole community, or even a clique of luvvies ... e.g. that skanky artist's(?) bed that somebody coughed up over £2million for yesterday?

Hell,  even I can't decide which is my least worst image so how could I expect anybody else to successfully judge what is my best?

At least with a random selection there's a slight chance that one of my pix might occasionally make it into the gallery.

You're missing the point boys and girls. Posts elsewhere are moaning that there's no traffic on this site compared to the Other Place. Clearly they're getting it right.
The forum there might be full of moans about how to achieve FPIs, but at least there are people actively using the site.

Well I'm getting sufficient traffic on here, whereas mostly all I see on S&M (aka smoke & mirrors) is pretty much the same people posting exactly the same drivel in the forums as they posted two or three years back on here ... and two or three years before that on Web-Models ..... and two or three years before that on Net-Model ....... plus the sort of "I Want To Be Paid" clueless newbies that we saw on here two or three years ago and on W-M before that and N-M before that.

What I'd like to see is the UK-centric sites returning to the way things were in the middle third of the last decade before they attracted the masses who had just been given unlimited t'internet access and before TwitFace gained the ascendancy. Wouldn't it be great if we could turn back the clock to that period where just about everybody seemed to know everybody else as we were all fishing together in quite a small pond and occasionally socialising at smallish friendly pub meets, and where most people seemed to be reasonably serious about modelling and photography rather than just seeking faux friends, baubles and gold stars?

Of course it will never be like that again, as the genie is well and truly out of the bottle, but one can dream.

Right, back to the banality of shooting boring product images to put food on the table.

You mean *gasps* when people actually had to learn how to operate a camera properly in order to achieve a decently exposed result? Might as well do it properly and insist everyone uses 36exp 64asa tranny film... in manual, mechanical cameras with hand held meters...
