I'm looking to get a monopod for use on natural light shoots where I'll be shooting at slower shutter speeds.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

I'm thinking of going with a manfrotto one as I should be able to reuse the head from my manfrotto tripod.

Thanks

I'm using this Manfrotto with the tilt head when using the Nikon 80-400 lens. Very pleased with it.

I use this five-section Manfrotto carbon fibre monopod with tilt head:

It's light and compact - perfect for my needs.

I certainly wouldn't want to stick a heavy tripod head on it though - kinda defeats the object!

That's the one I've been looking at.

What head do you use on it?

Thanks

Good point. I was just going for reuse.

I'm not sure I need a carbon fibre one as I'm not planning on walking long distances with it on my back. It's more for internal use.

Manfrotto 681B, it's a tough, no nonsense monopod that is the monopod equivalent if their heavier duty 055 series tripods. Since it's only 3 sections it's easy & quick to use, more sections are a pain IMO and are only necessary if you need a compact pod for travelling, ditto with carbon, no sense in it unless you're travelling.

Edit: just noticed it's already been mentioned. You really can't go wrong with it and another thing is that it fits into the dedicated 055 bag alongside the tripod.
When you are dead, you do not know that you are dead. All of your pain is felt by others. The same thing happens when you are stupid.

You can get a 680B for free if you buy one of these bags

Why not go for a Mogopod? Far more convenient

Don't even think about a head. Your eyes will be watering enough with just a monopod.
