..."Feed enough lies and half-truths to a fool and they are bound to regurgitate"

Really is this pathetic comment the best you can do?

In support of the post and having read through all 42 points, every single one is correct..so why would you come up with garbage like this?

I was there...you could only believe these points to be false if you were taken in, or still are, by tabloid lies or walked around blinkered with your fingers in your ears.

So instead of a reactionary pathetic limp inaccurate response, why don't you look a bit deeper into the facts, but judging your usual posts I am aware that for you the truth is a lot less interesting than some far right wing worthless quip?

"She invented Quangos"

Quote from that extremist far right Thatcher loving paper - the Guardian - re quangos

"Margaret Thatcher, came to power in 1979 determined to slaughter many of them, but – as in much else – found it hard even for her formidable willpower to achieve."

With luck his legacy will be absorbed into the Milliband cabinet as they move forward to form our next Government, probably in alliance with the Liberals.

A house with lots of adults in it is going to use more services than a house with a single adult in (regardless of whether or not it's a bungalow or mansion) so why should the household with less people be penalised.  I think the poll tax was the fairest tax system this country had seen, unless you're lazy scum who congregate in squalor under one roof.

It's curious, I can clearly remember the riots but can never remember other than the left wing supporters rioting over having to pay the tax.

They always seem to demand fairness in society as long as someone else pays!

My wife didn't work when we had young kids so I was the only earner in my home and I can remember a similar sized house across the road with 4 working adults  paying far less than I was in rates, merely because I'd spent a bit on updating my home!

When the Poll Tax was introduced, for the first time I was actually better off than under the old rating system which showed just how unfair the old rating system was and how the current system is now which replaced it!

The only good thing in recent years ( since the Coalition took power) is that I haven't seen my Council Tax rise 8-10% per year as was the case when Nu Labour was in power!

Which reminds me of something the great Margaret Thatcher once said regarding socialism:

"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples' money."

I, for one, regret Benn's departure. He was the best friend the Tories ever had. Whenever there was trouble, he would come up with some drivel or other and drive people to the right in their thousands.

Why do people hate Thatcher and respect Benn? Easy really, it has much in common with the debate on fox hunting. Any debate on fox hunting will inevitably turn into a class war debate. Every time. Facts are ignored and emotions run high. What is worse, those emotions are typical of the left wing tree hugging mindless majority, who's response to anything they disagree with is to spew hatred and violence, obstructing any debate on any matter.

If Thatcher had chewed tobacco, spat, farted out loud, ate fish and chips from the paper, and talked with a flat cap accent, she would have gathered supporters from the left in droves regardless of whatever policies the was advocating. Instead, any left winger hearing her voice, as soon as they detected the accent, which I admit grated, would stop hearing what she said and just descended into their usual hate.

When you compare that with the pro apartheid/anti ANC stance of Thatcher, the Falklands War used to win an election...
Socialist and proud of it

Like all political leaders, Mrs Thatcher would have expected the information offered to her at the outset of the Falklands crisis to have been accurate and relative to British interests.
In truth, lots of the advice given was disjointed and contradictory. The Government, British Intelligence and the military top brass seriously misjudged Argentina’s commitment to invasion and, having been caught with their pants down, were extremely reluctant to engage British forces in any attempt to win the islands back.
Embarrassed defence chiefs warned Thatcher that “Such a deployment would be very expensive; and that their (Argentine) geographical advantage and the relative sophistication of their armed forces would put our own task group at a serious disadvantage.”
Such concerns were not wasted on the Labour Opposition, and had Labour been in power at the time of the crisis, with or without the obligatory anti-war rhetoric from veteran left-winger Benn, there would have been no task force and the islanders would have been abandoned and left to their fate.
Thatcher insisted on the invasion; a huge political gamble at the time, and one that could have ended her political career at a stroke. The decision was difficult, brave and the ultimate test of her commitment and resilience. There was no guarantee of success at the time, and the suggestion that she sent British servicemen and women to war in the Atlantic to achieve electoral success at a later date is as ludicrous as it is dishonest.
The demonization of Mrs Thatcher since may have conveniently helped to blur the fact that the real reason for the conflict was Argentine aggression. I suspect most students, indoctrinated as they are with the inherent socialism of the educational system, are far too young to remember or care.
But, rest assured, those still living on the Falkland Islands remember the sacrifices made for their freedom, and who it was that took the leadership and responsibility for their liberation.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable on politics and I'm not asking for an argument but if she was so evil why was she reelected 3 times and didn't she inherit the winter of discontent from a labour government
