I'd love to be Cornish and have a passport with piskies on every page and cream tea as the national dish.

Unfortunately, due to the demographics of Cornwall (most of the population over 45 and hardly any under 30) means that the first pension day, Cornwall would end up on the phone to Wonga for some help!!

It could be Lupus.... It is NEVER Lupus!!

Scottish MP's have only made a difference in something like two of the general elections since the second world war. Their numbers are so small, they make little or no difference to the overall result.

Ask any Scot, do you have a football team-any good? No.
do you have a rugby team-any good? No.
do you have a cricket team-any good? No.
Let 'em get on with it...................

In four (or 5 if you include the 1974 hung parliament) there would have been overall Conservative control rather than Labour or coalition.

So you're talking another 20-ish years more overall Conservative rule over the last 60 years (since 1950). Hardly 'little or no difference'.

Odd how English teams need Scots to manage them then. The rugby team will be good next year, as we explain every year.. And excuse me, you clearly haven't heard of the excellent Scotland XI currently touring New Zealand!

For the better! cheeky

Oh I agree! - Having an excrescence like the Westminster Tories sealed off from Scotland’s affairs, will be like the manhole cover being replaced on a particularly malodorous sewer – 317 years late!

Who knows what will happen? Scotland leaves the UK but remains in the EU?; She stays in the UK, but is then dragged out of the EU by Farage, Jenkin and the other Little Ingerlunder's? Interesting dilemma don’t you think?!

However, if Scotland does go Indy, I won’t amuse myself watching Little Ingerlunder's, behind there privet hedges disappearing out of the EU and up Bernard Jenkin’s arse – And out into the ‘cold daylight’ of economic oblivion – Nor Baron Von Osborne continuing to jivago is a naughty person the economy over, with his house price bubble, consumer borrowing (until after the next election that is) laced with yet more sadistic cuts – Yes it all to come.

.......It will be a ‘little ingerlund’ – And a cold and poor one.

………..Now! Who would want to be part of that?

Typical Scottish bitterness...

Not only would Scotland be kept out of the EU by our continental friends who are concerned about any presidence it's membership would set... but Salmond's stupid decision to keep the pound would bring the Scots under the influence of English evconomic policy, with no vote or influence to change it.

Ingerlund does not own the pound - Check out the arrangements. The Eton Toff who represents a massively wealthy 'Cheshire-Set' seat claims a sovereignty he just does not have! It is just as true to say that England would be the subject of Scottish Economic Policy, with no vote to change it.

..Of course common sense would have to ensue with some sort of arrangement.

BTW - Just why would OUR FELLOW EUROPEANS want to keep Scotland out? -

yes, sure, the EU would happily lose all that massive area of fishing waters (and petrochemicals and tidal and wind energy)? Or maybe not.

the sterling thing, yes probably that's a bit dodgy, though it's Scotland's currency too and England has no right to try to claim it to itself. The UK is a UNION of countries, Scotland never stopped being a nation with its own laws. The independence issue is not as simplistic as the English press presents it. What Scots really want is 'Devolution taken to the max' but that's not an option in the referendum which was not democratically defined but created by Cameron and Salmond in a wee huddle.
