Or one could look at the model's pictures, probably a better guide to the "suitability" of their figure? Must admit I try to look beyond "cup size" as I tend to attempt photography that doesn't purely focus on breast size...!

When I got my new boobs they were supposed to take me up by a cupsize or two.
I was totally thrown when I went bra shopping to find that I had gone from previously a 34b to a 32E o.O
Thing is, they are not 'that' big, just wider....
Enhanced in post production, but not working to a level of filmed with inserts :D

Thing is judging from the comments on here many are already looking at the models breasts in images and then saying "must be lying, shes clearly not a D" .
I could understand the frustration slightly if they stupidly book a model who doesn't post topless images on her portfoio and has no example of what they look like out of a bra for a topless shoot but then the people specifically shooting for breast magazines or porn sites which caters for that market really should keep up to speed on things and how they have changed and shoot a model who usually works to that level and has examples on their portfolio.

So I lie about my breast size, I don't want anybody sitting saying "shes a liar, shes not a D" when I was measured (at M&S) and they put on quite a few bras to see which cup fit me best and it came back as a D. The people who book me don't seem to give much of a hoots though about my boobs/their size because its not really an important feature, they see clearly what my body looks like in my images and book me based on that. They may search for models but chances are they tick the "nude" box and nothing more. I do think though having the "C" listed on my portfolio might be an advantage though in some ways becuse people who do search on boob sizes maybe do look for D and above so its fine by me if I fall under their radar.

So models have up to date measurements and have been measured by an actual expert as to the what bra size to wear but we have GWC's calling them liars, maybe back in their day a D was larger but times change - a D cup doesn't mean a massive pair of boobs.

It all depends on the back size and difference between the 2 measurements. Good guide on here http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/rh26h/is_getting_fitted_for_a_bra_as_humiliating_as_it/c469bi0

I was going to post that link, and while it's useful for the ladies I decided it would be too wordy for the men  My post was probably too much information for them to deal with.

Totally agree, especially with the part I made bold.

Well perhaps they are the ones who need to change, this is why women struggle with their own bra sizes. Because they think that D or above means massive.

So true!  I was measured as a 32C but I wouldn't put that on my profile as I know photographers would expect larger in reality!!

There are a lot of photographers who lie about their experience..  "Experienced/professional when in reality more like amateur and novice"!!

to be honest i have no fecking clue what size i am because in day to day life i dont wear bras

overall most of the bras i own are 32B but i know that's not my real size as it rides right up my back, i also sometimes have issues with the width of boob in the cup but its the most comfortable fitting one i can find in ann summers

i used to be a 28 back (before kids) and wore 32 A as that was the smallest i could ever find (although back then i only owned 2 bras lol

i am aware my right boob appears to be a size bigger than the left though so how do you list that

as for dress size that can directly be related to boob size, most of my friends with big boobies are size 16+ not because there fat but because there top half is so big due to there boobs

dress sizes are strange im an 8, always wear an 8 in dresses but im a 6-8 in tops and a 12 in bottoms

Well I have tried to keep up to speed, and have asked the question several times over the past few years about why and when the 'classification' of breast sized changed. I no longer ask for cup sizes, but ask for 'big' boobs and refer the model to picture on my profile which illustrate my definition of big. But that doesn't change the fact that I used to be able to advertise for big boobed models, D-cup or bigger, and everyone who replied with a D cup *did* have significantly larger than normal boobs.

For the purposes of this thread, i'm more interested in the academics of the why/where/how of the change, which seems to be more confusing.
