| twentytwenty Photographer This member has been reset to pending | I am a Die hard BT user. though over the last year, I had connection problems. something I had not taking into consideration before came to light. what happens when you have problems, BT policy, they offered to send out an engineer to investigate the problem. No worries. then I was told. if the problem was between the exchange and my Home connection there would be no charge. However if the problem was between my connection and my PC then the call out charge would be £100. meaning somebody could turn up claim I had a loose wire and I could be charged £100. Its well worth looking at other suppliers fault policy, there are some strange ones hidden in the woodwork and some are even worse than BT. |

| Gregory_Mason Photographer Location United Kingdom West Midlands Birmingham | I am with Virgin and have been for many years and had very few problems. When I moved house they were brilliant turned up a day after moving in and I was up and running with no fuss. |

| Alan_Jay Photographer Location United Kingdom South Yorkshire | People will undoubtedly suggest whatever supplier they are with I'd go with BT, who are leading the way in BB technology, albeit not the first to rush out new stuff, and offer some amsing speeds with the new fibre based option. They are bringing out all sorts of sports options on their TV deals, including football live. TV allows you to watch pay per view fims, without forking out for a monthly subscription. I've been with BT broadband since it started and have had very good service. |

For clarity, the charge for fixing a problem on a customers own wiring is a regulatory obligation. i.e. BT cannot say they'll fix it for you for free as it is considered 'unfair trading'. Every supplier should be doing this. The liklyhood of an engineer saying the fault is on your wiring when it is not is very slight to the extent of being practically nonexistent. This type of charge is anything BUT strange. |

| iankerr Photographer Location United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Milton Keynes | Before you sign up, make sure the supplier says what speed you will get. I have been with BT since broadband started but because I live a long way from the exchange my speed is poor. When I asked when they would upgrade speed, the local exchange is already compatible, they said I have no right to know when this would happen, basically I pay for whatever they feel like providing. |

| Socialdisaster Photographer Location United Kingdom Cambridgeshire Cambridge | I am with Eclipse and have been for 6 years. In that time I have had 3 hours planned downtime and approx 1 hour problem downtime. They supply adsl only and aren't the cheapest but are by far one of the best. They also have a fair use policy and do absolutely no shaping. | |
