| ziggypot Photographer Location United Kingdom London | I am an experienced amateur photographer who is frantic to get my own space. I have enough lights etc to kit a studio out but as it is not a revenue base for me the cost is an issue. However, if it was to be shared then it could suit all. I want a guaranteed 2 days, one of which is a Saturday and the other mid week [but that could be flexable] and posibly some evenings . The rest of the time is up for grabs as I work full time and would not have time to shoot other than these days. The ideal would be 2 others with a guarentee 2 days each and a flexible agreement between us on taking up or swapping un-used days. I would also be keen to do joint venture model days and tutorials to bolster the 'kitty'. What I would be looking for is about 1000 /1500sq ft industrial unit with high ceilings. I would be happy with NW London [I am based in Edgware], Watford, Elstree or as far as St Albans. My estimate is that it would cost about £1000 per month including council tax, possibly less if we looked hard enough, so for 3 people that would be about £75 per person per week. I would also consider splitting with just one other. |

| Spike Photographer Location United Kingdom Hertfordshire St Albans | If your looking at leasing a building take legal advice & make sure you have a patnership agreement or set up a ltd company to take on the lease. Partnerships have a nasty habit of going wrong & one of you could find yourself liable for all the costs. Personally I would recommend finding a unit where ether party can terminate the agreement on 1-3 months notice. |

| ziggypot Photographer Location United Kingdom London | Hi Spike Apprecieate your advice and you are of course right. I have been running my own businesses for nearly 50 years have have seen all of the 'partnership' issues. Right now I am just looking for an experession of interest and I will look at the nitty gritty if I get any. Basically I was taught a long time ago that if I can live with the downside of a deal then and only then is it a plausable one. In this case I would have to know that I could carry the weight of the premises myself, if only for a while, if I was left to hold the baby. |
