| 2muchglam Photographer Location United Kingdom Central Falkirk | I have done this on many occasions for many different reasons. 1) The images on models profile are very out of date 2) The images on models profile have been highly edited/retouched 3) I want to see a more detailed image of a specific part that im going to be shooting, ie Face etc... In my mind there is nothing wrong with this at all, models want to see our images before shooting with us and our port is our prospective shop window, If we can't show that we can work in a specific genre or area then it would put models off working with us. I think it's exactly the same for me in the fact if I cant see what i need for a specific job in the models shop window I ask for a snapshot or simply move to another model. It's in the models best interest in my opinion to do this as long as its not ridiculous images he/she is asking for or way outside the prospective shoot parameters. |

| GRPhotography Photographer Location United Kingdom Berkshire | I have done it a few times when a model has A) not had a online port to show me images. B) had out of date online port C) said one of the following things 1. I have changed my hair colour 2. I have just had a baby but am back in shape no problem. I have never asked for nude images and would never need to. underwear bikini still shows a body shape. The thing you have to ask yourself is, What is the shoot? TF / Paid / Publication If its a TF then I wouldn't bother and would just move on find someone else there are plenty of people to TF with (unfortunately) Is it Paid i.e paying you... The client i.e the photography has every right to confirm the product. Is it Publication/Syndication ... again the client i.e the photographer would need to know you was suitable Just be careful what you send |

| jadestiff1991 Model Location United Kingdom Suffolk stowmarket | Probs just a good idea to take a natural photo of yourself to put up with just base make up and hair down so photographers can see a blank canvas to see if they have the look they can work with? | |

| Allinthemind Photographer Location United Kingdom Gloucestershire | Is a photographer ever justified in asking you to take photos of yourself to send to him? Is it always as dodgy as dodgeroonies? Yes. And... Of course not. There are many reasons why I might need to see a photograph that isn't on your folio, let alone a photograph that hasn't been retouched.. Si |

| flashman Photographer This member has been suspended | I ask a model who replied to a CC of mine for a recent, nude photo as her port was 2 years out of date and who knows what she looks like now? Her mirror |

| mattharper Photographer Location United Kingdom Devon Paignton | As a general rule, if you feel uncomfortable with a request, you probably have good reason to be. I don't think that is correct, some people might find something many others find perfectly normal and acceptable, shocking So, a new model is asked if she has any topless pictures as she has none on her portfolio, after replying to a casting. She might be shocked, but are topless images shocking? Not nowadays and a photographer could be completely entitled to ask this. |
