| andy_h Photographer Location United Kingdom Lancashire Lancaster | I'm not sure about the spot colour, the concept of the spot colour, or the angle it's taken from. It's not a shot I'd go for on taste personally and thats a theme that runs through a few of your photos; there's nowt that grabbed me so to speak I did look at this one a couple of times though, it's an exception to the rest of your port ![]() |

| DCox Photographer Location United Kingdom Northamptonshire | ok Robin i will try and see if this helps. Your style is the glam nude and is executed with competence. There is a lot of it about and your stuff works as it is. It is not trying to be anything other than that. It means you can work with and light models and produce those images well. There is nothing wrong with that and you do it well. I agree the shot above is the exception to the rest of them. You have been creative with light, colour and depth of field and done something a bit different to the rest of your work. If you want stretch yourself further and that is why you have asked for a port review then you need to find what you want to do! Despite working with some pretty girls you may get bored of sticking up the background and competently lighting them. It is always a danger. You can do it already. some advice I got was to look through some great photographers work and see what inspired me... and then use it to inspire me how about something like Ellen von Unwerth or guido argentini or anyone you admire? Artists have been inspired by the work of others for ever. If you enjoy what you are doing now and want to do that.....then for improvements maybe just look on PS and see if you can find someone on here whose work inspires you and see which bits of your stuff you can improve yourself on. Clearly we have a big difference in style but the processes of learning and inspiration can be the same cheers Dom |

| profilepictures Photographer Location United Kingdom Suffolk Bury St Edmunds | I like the picture described twice above already too. Probably because it's a little more imaginative feeling, by comparison to the test of the port, it's a breathe if fresh air. I'm not a fan of selective colour, rose petal pants, clumsy vignette and wrinkly cloth backgrounds. Add in a cheesy watermark and most pictures would become devalued in my opinion. However, there's some evidence of nice lighting ( natural looking) and maybe you'll want to pursue that further but without cloth backdrops, sometimes the domestic or general outdoors can be much more natural feeling and easy in the eye. There's an impression of you biting off more than you can comfortably chew currently, and overall I think it shows. Maybe reign back a bit a nail the more basic shots with less cliche and more individual style in show before going into nudes in a big way? And no, I'm not a troll, you asked. If you're unable to take critical opinion, that's really not our problem. |

| kingnorman13NK Photographer Location United Kingdom London | I suggest you start looking at the works of good phographers or even some of the better fashion magasines and analyse the pictures. If you like an image ask youself why, and if not - why not. Then look at your own and ask the same questions. My overall reaction to your images was a concern that you are not flattering your models. And pay attention to the detail. That shag pile carpet with the background is not a good look. Also, beware of gimmicks - why would you highlight red petals in the bottom left of that monochrome shot - it takes your eye in the wrong direction. Ask yourself if you believe the picture is improved by the presence of petals, let alone red ones. You can probably guess what I think. If you want to use accessories like this you need to do it convincingly. |

| Hugh Photographer Location United Kingdom Dyfed Aberystwyth | This is streets ahead of the rest - it's good converted to BW as well.![]() The rest are fairly run of the mill glamour. Spot colour was fairly interesting in the '80s, when it was difficult (you had to contact print a transparency onto lith negative film, and mount them together in the slide mount). That was 30 years ago. I'm fairly certain I've seen rose petals before as well. Keep the great natural light shot, it's great, and shoot more like it. Dump the rest. |
