| TonyS Photographer Location United Kingdom West Sussex Shoreham By Sea | Hi Guys I`m looking for a compact camera (again) as an alternative to an SLR. I`ve been out the loop somewhat on new camera's, so I dont know if the holy grail of compacts is available or not. As usual, looking for.....
I see there are some new and interesting looking Fuji's, and whats Canon upto with the G10/G11 range?! My current SLR is a Nikon, so I`ve some affinity with them, but the specs above are more important than the brand. Any pointers would be good, seems like there`s a ton of new stuff out over the last few months, so any info to kick start my research would be cool! Cheers T. *No, I cant afford the new Leica |

| crlightworks Photographer | Worth looking at a Panasonic Lumix LX-5. I've had one for about 18 months and I think it would match your criteria. |

| crlightworks Photographer | HD video would be cool! It does that too, in 16:9, but only at 720p so not as good as it could be. |

Anyone got a new Fuji?! |

God knows what the lens costs for that are. Converter could be an option, but its starting to get messy. Hmmmmm I`ll check it out though, could be a grin!! Ta! This bugger needs to meet the criteria above, yet fit in my (large) jacket pocket! |

| crlightworks Photographer | Just reading some reviews of it now, its getting rave comments - and its not very expensive either!! It's a great little camera. The image quality for a compact is excellent. Good long battery life too. For me, it has a couple of annoying points: the aspect ratio switch above the lens can be easily nudged in-pocket - I sorted that with some electrical tape. Also, the mode dial can be changed to easily in-pocket too. It's annoying as it can be accidentally switched to non-RAW modes. I've used a very small elastic band to try and counter that, but it often falls off. |
