| HowardJ Photographer Location United Kingdom Surrey | I took Booker Wholesale for Constructive Dismissal. They made my life hell for 5 years. so you spent 5 years of your life going through hell? Did you win the case? Was the payout sufficient to cover being unhappy for 5 years and the impact on your health, which probably also shortened your life too? You could have found another job and been enjoying your life for those 5 years. Life is too short... |

| HowardJ Photographer Location United Kingdom Surrey | if i left this job it would have a manjor impact on my life im afraid. need to finish the contract Well if it's just a contract job, then you know it has a definite end date, so just milk it for what it's worth and put up with the bullying until it ends. It's not uncommon for managers to treat contractors differently from permies and expect them to do whatever they say and not speak back. |

| Brian_Markie Photographer Location United Kingdom Cheshire Warrington | i agree with Matt Harper. I thought i had one of the best work mates ever even though she was the opposite sex we we're truly the best work mates. Right until i needed her statement she witnessed with me; she suddenly turned coat on me for no apparent reason other than fear of losing her job. Crazy how reliance isn't in the true code of friendship or should that be true friendship. Anyway the morale of the story is we've never talked since Feb 4th 2010 and until last week i was an unemployed Professional. Good luck with whatever you do but u need evidence not reliance. Ooh and thanks Ceri, for nothing! |

| chymera Photographer Location United Kingdom Lancashire | I took Booker Wholesale for Constructive Dismissal. They made my life hell for 5 years. So I sacked my self and walked out and handed my resignation in the next day. What u need to do is get "evidence" that they gunning for u, so if u go to a solicitor they can take on ur case. with out true evidence u will get no where, record them saying bad things about u and u will have cracked it. Also I made a website about Booker Wholesale too they did not like that one, revenge is so sweet i work in a supermarket and bullying by management is common its the upper management that are the worst they come in and pick faults that are not really there, the best and only real way to deal with it is to record it to give you hard evidence against them it maybe no good in a tribunal but a lot of bullying that goes on is quiet and sneaky it just goes on and on the only way to stop it is with hard evidence and put in a grievance against the people who are doing the bullying if your company has a grievance process most do also keep it quiet don't tell anyone about your evidence gathering loose lips sink ships as they used to say and the website idea is first rate the company i work for hates anything like that they even made a job up for someone at head office just to troll the web looking for websites and utube videos about the company |

| Lisaliz Model Location United Kingdom Essex | A great friend of mine got dismissed and decided to fight for unfair dismissal. Initially he tried legal advice, but this was expensive and not all that helpful. One trainee lawyer advised him to drop it. So he worked really hard at doing the whole thing for himself as he was convinced he was in the right. This involved getting a lot of information together and learning a lot of law. The tribunal was scheduled for 5 days as it was very involved. On the first day the employers offered him a settlement which he rejected. They then upped the offer twice until he was satisfied with the amount. Within three years the main bully and the manager at the time were both (fairly) sacked from the company. So justice can happen, but it can take a long time and effort. |

| Strober Photographer Location United Kingdom Cheshire Manchester | Lets just say that "I Won".... And that making a website about them was not the only form of revenge that I got. Trust me the main manager went to bed known that he won the battle, but I won the war so you spent 5 years of your life going through hell? Did you win the case? Was the payout sufficient to cover being unhappy for 5 years and the impact on your health, which probably also shortened your life too? You could have found another job and been enjoying your life for those 5 years. Life is too short... PS: I admit I can be a very bad enemy to have |

| jennyfozard Model Location United Kingdom North Yorkshire York | yep, terribly, enough to send me to a near on nervous break down. It was the "larger", unfortunate looking, middle aged ladies mainly. I am actually, in every day life, very quiet and reserved and I think the manager began to dislike the fact that customers were always saying how lovely it was to have someone so helpful helping them and someone so polite, some even said "your much nicer than the rest of them in here". The managers began to belittle me and tell me I shouldn't help the elderly and disabled to pack their shopping which I refused to do and I was "too slow", she picked at every fault....it all sounds so silly now but when it is day in day out them putting me down to the point were customers were saying that I shouldn't allow them to speak to me like that. Basically, without warning, my hours were cut by half (I worked at the local co-op), I asked why and they said it was because they couldn't afford to keep another full time member of staff.....a week later came meheekan, or how ever you spell it, boy! Yes that is right a bright pink moheeken young man with manners similar to that of a pig who was subsequently put on to full time. I asked for a meeting as I wanted to query the situation in a formal manner, to cut a long story short the GM couldn't justify what she was doing or saying and said I was unreliable and hadn't turned up for this shift, that shift and the other but when I aksed for dates and times she could not give me any or was unwilling to go and get them.....what topped it all off was she then said I was unreliable as I asked for two days a month off to spend with my fiance who is only home for that time (I made this clear during my initial interview that I required this time off which she said was fine) to which I replied "how can you call me unreliable, I am always early or on time, I don't drink so will never come in hungover, I don't go out even and I would happily work every day apart from those two"..........this is where it gets disgusting she replied "well I have to go and see my husband who is terminally ill in hospital every night with cancer" and a few weeks later I mentioned the whole thing to a friend and she was appalled as her husband is perfectly well and in the pub most nights and others have subsequently confirmed it. After that meeting I went back to my till and was that so distressed by all she had said to me and the way she belittled me I was on the verge of tears (which is not like me as I am very thick skinned), I spoke to my fiance who told me to tell the "fat b**ch to stuff her job where the sun doesn't shine" to which I did, I through my uniform at one of them and said I won't be needing that anymore and walked out.....best bloody thing I ever did, what is money without happiness? I put in a 6 page formal complaint to the head office which was replied to with a pathetic letter which ignored every point I made. I have never seen this lady since but boy when I do I will get her told, nasty piece of work. But where one door closes another opens I left there and my modelling career went from strength to strength and now I can support myself full time modelling which is brilliant. |
