After looking at a casting call today for promo work, I thought to myself why can't I do that?
Do you have to have a specific look? Would I be suitable? Are there Agencies that specialise is this?
Still feel very new to all of this and any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Thankyou
LouLou x

n2o, imp and stuck-for-staff are really good in my opinion. the look/skills required depend on the job at hand

Ok... If you want paid work you need to upgrade to a silver member and create a casting call, but of you're being paid don't expect any images as you will have been paid already, also if someone is paying you it's probably for their port, they won't shoot what you want. When I pay a model it's for my own portfolio, why should I pay them, shoot what they want AND give them images? It doesn't work like that.

If you need specific images, you should pay a photographer.

Also if you're making money from this, you should really tell the taxman.

What relevance does that have to Promo work?! Also, most of that is absolute NONSENSE. I have had images from LOTS of shoots from Commercial clients, you are wrong.

She said "looking for preferably paid shoots" and I was being honest with her, if I was paying her she wouldn't get a single image from you as she's getting payment, so I think you'll find I was giving her factual information, not "nonsense", you don't get everything handed to you on a silver plate.

Great for you if you've had both, it's their discretion, I was just giving the point of view that not -everyone- will give cash and images, for me it's one or the other.

Nice outburst though.

In reply to SarahTakahashi, I think you need to re-read my post before writing a paragraph of rubbish! I am self-employed and have an accountant so "mr taxman" knows everything.
Thanks

Lol, uhhu, your post says you still feel relatively new, that you're not sure, that you're looking for advice, your profile states amateur, yet you said you were looking for paid work, your reply seems to have disappeared so I can only assume an administrator deleted the comment as you're not allowed to tout for work on the forums.

Anyway, it said "preferably looking for paid shoots but will consider TFCD if it benefits"

So you shouldn't be marked as amateur if the taxman knows, you should be putting semi-pro or pro.

Not my fault your reply got deleted touting for work.

Again, giving you the honest opinion of how a paying client would view this.
