Flickr links in casting calls

Dear purstorm,

Is there a problem with posting links to flickr within a casting call?

I ask because a model I work with quite often posted a casting call and included a link to flickr, her images on my flickr to be exact, but the link was "[[removed by admin]]". And we are both somewhat surprised by this.

Oh, and she is a paying customer. Is that a way to treat paying customers?!?

Really, what exactly is the issue?

Best regards,
russ.

Does Flickr have an internal messaging system that could be seen as circumventing the casting/PM system on Purestorm?

There again, posters placing website addresses that inevitably have a 'Contact me' section would have to be included in that too.

I don't know. At best, I wouldn't have a clue!

Ah, that would rule out people suggesting they google such interesting terms like "russ freeman photography" as the first link I see is to my web site and that has a "contact" page which includes a novel approach of including a telephone number and email address.

Crispy, I seriously hope that's not the case because tiinak has numerous links to other "places", as do many of the people listed on your references.

And mods, can you explain why this was moved to "Common Questions" when it clearly is not a common question...I did search but found NOTHING.

Perhaps a common answer would not be too much trouble?

As the Contact us link was not used to ask your question of the Administrators,
a Duty Moderator moved the query to a section where Management is most likely to spot it.

How about spending the time to read the thread and answer the actual question?

Actually, it begs a new question.

If management isn't around to spot the thread then were they around to edit the casting call? If not then who gave authority to edit a casting call if management wasn't around.

If management WAS around to edit the casting call then how come they didn't have the common courtesy to inform their PAYING customer as to the reason for removing the flickr link.

Seriously. I suspect too many cooks are involved and far too few chefs (Indians, Chiefs, you pick)

Moderators cannot answer general questions directed at Management as we are merely Moderators.
We have no idea why a link may have been been removed from a Casting Call particularly
as no model has recently questioned the removal of any link through the normal channels.
There is a Contact us link at the bottom of every site page for members who need to query an Admin decision.

This question about external links removal has been flagged for Management attention.

Okay. That seems fair.

So who removes links from casting calls? Moderators or management? If mods then perhaps the moderators can explain their rationale for removing links to flickr on casting calls. If it was management perhaps they could explain their rationale for removing links to flickr on casting calls.

The model isn't questioning the edit of her casting call (which she was totally unaware of until she looked. And that is unacceptable in my view. You don't just edit someone's stuff without at least informing them of the edit and explaining WHY it was edited).

I am questioning it, especially as it was a link NOT to a modelling web site but to a link on flickr.
