Think i have a Wonky Knee

Like the title says. For that past few weeks or so. My left knee keeps clicking and popping when i walk, and feels like it gets stuck and have to click it back into place. Not all that painful.

Now everyday for the past week or so, i can not walk any length of distance with out my knee going. And what i can only discribe, is like ive knelt on a marble or  My knee cap is joined together with elastic bands and they keep pinging. When this happens i can not walk normal and have to slow my pace down and not put pressure on my left leg.   And when it happens i tend to shout Ahhh! really loud. lol Feel like an idiot as normally on my own
My knee has not swollen up and im not really in that much pain. just when i get the poppping and pinging sensation.

Right now im wearing a support bandage that doesnt really make any difference and the pressure on it seems to make it worse..  I want to go to the Doctor but will feel daft as im not in pain and my knee is not swollen.

Has anyone on here had knee problems at a young age.
I keep saying i have the body of young women but inside feel like an old lady lol

Sounds like a cartilage problem to me. Its key hole surgery and you'll be back on your feet in a few days. I had a similar op aged 19

I was kind of thinking that myself as my dad had to have it done in both knees.  I'm not sure if its a genetic thing though. As my  cousin who is 40 just had to have it done just a few months ago.

It can also happen as a result of a severe (and sometimes) not so severe bang to the knee - It could be a minor build up of the 'synovial' fluid - I had a motorcycle accident about 3 years ago (who am I kidding, I fell off my moped) - but as a result about 3 weeks later my knee swelled up and was painful to walk/sit/stand etc - ended up having to have it drained at the Hospital (not fun) - the point being , although I hit the ground rather hard, apparently this can happen if you just kneel on something too hard or bang it on the edge of a table etc - well worth the trip to A&E to get it checked out Jody

Thats terrible. im trying to think back to see if i banged my knee or knelt on something. but  i cant  think. Like i said my knee is not swollen. and its only when i start walking i get pains with the clicking popping and pinging. it gives me a fright, but normally i know when its about to happen as i can feel my knee starting to tighten.

Another vote for the doctor. Likely to be a buildup of cartilage which can quickly / painlessly be taken out with pinhole surgery. I've got friends who had this done and pretty much no downtime at all... The doc will probably send you for an xray and send you to a specialist.

It does sound like cartlidge or severe crepitis. But its NOT an A&E visit its a gp matter.

im really lucky that dispite being hypermobile (to the extream) in my knees i actually dont have any problems, but knee problems seem to be very common, at college my group of friend's is made up of 8 people and im the only one over 20 yet out of those 7 young people 2 of them have metal knee replacements and i know at least 5 people who had fake knees befor turning 21 and many more with pain problems, so its probs best to go get checked out

Would just feel silly telling my doctor as I'm not in agong and don't have any swelling.
But I know I definatly need to go as its affecting me when out and about as one minute I'm fine the next my knee goes.
