For models who model nude and above.

I Know this may sound strange. But since ive started modelling ive had one kidney infection after another.
I never really thought much about it. just thought because i was standing about naked in cold palces, and because my immune system has been lower as sometimes you forget to it.

But now ive realised it  is probably sitting on things and places that i pick up germs. So do models who model nude and above. When working in studios do you wipe the surfaces with anti-bacterial wipes before and after sitting on the surfaces.
I mean if the place is busy with nude models coming and going. your are sure to pick up Germs if they have not been wiped Right?

Im just wondering how many other models have picked UTI/Kidney infections since modelling?  As it has been suggested to me that i use wipes before and after sitting down on surfaces naked.

Have you been getting UTIs that spread to kidney infections, or just kidney infections? I haven't had them through modeling, but had a kidney infection and was told that if you get them regularly it could become a chronic problem.

I used to have a fairly constant cold when modelling - largely because of having to sit/lie/stand around in the cold or on cold surfaces. I never got a UTI or anything through it though, but when relaxing I'd always either put something on, or sit on my leg rather than actually on the surface. I'd presume that it's more of an issue with adult work if you're using someone else's toys.

If the doc suggested it, I wouldn't see any reason not to wipe down surfaces. Cold surfaces can also be a factor when getting UTIs so maybe cut down on outdoor locations shoots where you sit on rocks etc.

Ive got both UTI's that lead to kidney infections. but last month just developed a kidney infection. Ive only ever suffered one in my life before when i was pregnant, until i started modelling.
No no no would never use anyone else's sex toys. Yuck! lol i only ever work by myself on shoots. But have read up on certain sex toys hold bacteria no matter what you use to clean them. And its normally the jelly type ones. I have not done much solo shoots of late so its not that.

Just made me think that im picking up bacteria from surfaces that are not sterile. Was just really asking if any other models have got this since they started nude modelling and if they ever questioned if it came from sitting on surfaces that are not sterile.
Maybe im just going to be one of these people who picks up germs easily.

Make sure during a long busy day that you don't get dehydrated and also that you pop round the rocks and have a wee when you need one! This should help.

One kidney infection after another could just be one kidney infection that is going dormant and then building up again. What has your quack said? Have you asked for specialist advice? Is it, in fact, a kidney infection rather than a urinary infection? One piece of advice that is rarely welcome as it is often misinterpreted, rather foolishly by many, is for a visit to the local GUM clinic. It's the first, and easy, step to eliminating possible illnesses and thereby tracking down the real cause.

You don't get colds, BTW, from being cold, but by catching a virus.

Are you implying I've just been guessing I have had kidney infections. Yes I have seen my doctor when it occurs yes sometimes I leave it too late and I develop a kidney infection. Most often than not utis in women lead to kidney infections if left untreated. Why because the bacteria that decends up the urethra and into the bladder and then the kidneys.
Yes I have been ruled out of other things you maybe implying that I've had instead of a kidney infection.

All I'm asking is if any models who shoot nude have been more prone to this kind of thing since they started modelling.

Its funny no matter what your post is about on these forum someone has to turn it around

Curiously enough, yes, I've had a few more episodes than usual in the last couple of years.

With me, it seemed to correlate with very hot weather especially if I'm, say, playing a lot of sweaty competitive singles tennis. So I found it helped if I drank more (water!) and assumed it was dehydration at the centre of the problem.   But then you drink plenty of water anyway...

Interesting.

What on earth is all this 'implying' rubbish? Your original post doesn't give anywhere near a full picture of the background to your problem. Because of that, I offer comment that may have been overlooked. People do this sometimes when they are discussing their own health. Neither am I 'implying' anything by suggesting a visit to the GUM clinic. It's a common sense precaution to eliminate possible causes of symptoms. With certain symptoms your GP is likely to suggest the very same thing. Let's be blunt here, I'm not 'implying' you have a dose of clap, and even if I was, anyone can catch a dose, it doesn't mean you are immoral, or a bad person. It's not entirely uncommon for people with an STD to close their eyes to the possibility until it does irrevocable damage. This I know. I was a sexual health advisor for some time.

You display your medical health problems for discussion on an open forum. I offer some basic advice that is based on nothing more than common sense, and all of a sudden I'm 'implying' things, and 'turning things around'. It's very much this sort of reaction that gives people pause when common sense and the evidence indicates they should attend a GUM clinic. Instead, they end up sterile, or with organ damage, or dead,

I clean the studio at the end of every shoot, and I do mean every shoot! I allow the time within my diary to do it, so they can't have caught it from me.

No wait...I haven't shot you yet!
