Location United Kingdom West Sussex Shoreham By Sea | I may be buying a new lens, mostly for studio/portrait work. Fullframe camera Currently I`m using a 24-70 Sigma, I swear its a bit soft though, anyways, considering one of the above primes. Anyone have any tips, prefs or whatnot on these lenses?! |

Location United Kingdom West Yorkshire | Avoid macro lenses, they focus too slow. ( the Nikon VR one is nice but way over priced) I love my 85 1.8. I don't think there is much in it between an 85 and a 105 if room is not an issue, however the 85 is a faster lens ( always good) |

Location United Kingdom Tyne and Wear Hebburn | i find the 85 a bit short on FF, and having bought one i find i rarely use it and wish i had held out for the 105. point taken about focus speed on a macro lens though, i had a canon 100 macro and although it was a cracking lens it did have a tendency to hunt a bit. | |

Location United Kingdom West Yorkshire | For studio work I see no point spending more than double the price for the 85 1.4, the 85 1.8 is just as sharp at studio settings and most reviews say it's just as sharp every where else. The 1.4 wins on blur..just |

(before someone jumps in saying "oh my lens is 50 years old and pin sharp" please note I said SOME Its been sharp as a tack on previous camera's (D70, D200) perhaps the D3 just out performs it or something. Love the lens, just tired of having to sharpen stuff |
