Location United Kingdom Cumbria Kendal, Lancaster | There's loads of old quarries between Abergele and Colwyn Bay that might be suitable if you're looking for something like that. The church at Bodlwydan. The piers at Colwyn Bay and LLandudno, the trams on the Great Orme … Years since I've been but Llandudno also used to have some very attractive Victorian covered shopping areas. Any of those suitable? |

Location United Kingdom Conwy | The pier at Colwyn bay is mostly derelict and is difficult to access a lot of it. The pier in Llandudno is fine, but security will chase you of if you pull out anything bigger than a camera phone- especially if shooting a model. Above Conwy is an old church- it's is still in occassional use so merits the usual respect, but it can be found here. I'm not sure if it's open at this time of the year though. For excellent graffiti in Llandudno, try here. When you find the playing field, you can't miss the wall- I've a photograph of a model in front of it in my profile. Have fun! Simon |

Location United Kingdom Flintshire Mold | Dyserth Falls Rhuddlan Castle Loggerheads, Moel Fammau or Wepre if you're after a woodland scene. Wepre also has the remains of Ewloe castle. The west beach at Llangollen is supposed to be nice, and there must be some great views from the Orm, as Phil mentions. Prestatyn beach is sandy with loads of large rocks, but absolutely nothing there if the tides in. You definitely want to time it so that the tide is out. There may also be a few good spots ont he Rhosesmore road. Heading east on the A55, take the Rhosesmore turning, turn right parallel with the road and at the bottom of the dip turn right under the bridge. Stay with the road for about a mile and it'll open out with lots of hillocks. Quite nice if the weather's good. Hope that helps! |

| Phil Rees No longer a member | The west beach at Llangollen The west beach at Llandudno presumably ? Llangollen is a bit outside the area you mention, (and the beach there is crap, lol) but it does have a steam railway, canal, castle ruins, abbey, and the "panorama" all within a mile of each other |
