new casting call section?

What about a box to tick which signals interest together with a link to the profile of the applicant? What you get in your inbox is either a pre-scripted and automated enquiry or a symbol. If interested the recipient can write out a reply. If not, he can just leave it and after a day it gets bounced back to the sender with an automated reply of something like, "your  enquiry was unsuccessful on this occasion". 

The benefits are that it means casting calls which get tons of replies from models who apply for tons of jobs do not negatively affect the reply rate if the advertiser just hasn't got the time to reply to each applicant. Models will be using a method of enquiry which is built into the system rather than having to sit down and write out applications over and over again, or sending out cut and paste messages. Should speed things up from both sides.

If a model is genuinely interested in a job she thinks she has a real chance of getting, she can do the hand-written thing and expect a hand-written reply.

 It's just a name for something that either does the job or does not. A model is "casting around" for paid or tf work. A photographer is "casting" for a shoot. The format is a casting call, even if the definition is broader to suit the purpose. No problem at all with it. And from my recent experience, about twice as effective as the previous system. Also saving a shed load of time on searches.

Models and Photographers are a fickle bunch, Purestorm rose out of nowhere and took a lot the membership from NM, because it turned out to be a better site and people preferred it.

I think the management should pay carefull attention to how the new system works, I know Matt spent a lot of time on this, but I would strongly advise that if it meets with strong customer resistance and loss of members, then it should be scrapped very quickly.
